In the first story, after escaping a group of carnivorous white apes, he saves a girl from a band of Neanderthals, fights a jealous brute, and is wrongly accused of his murder. In the second story, he chases a monkey which has stolen his knife, bow, and arrows, leaving him to defeat a leopard unarmed and to save the monkey from a hungry eagle.
In the first story, a helpless and unconscious jungle boy becomes the prize for a group of carnivorous white apes, who all find him too delicious-looking to share.
