Jean Paul Valley becomes increasingly violent, believing it is necessary in order to deal with the criminals of post-Bane Gotham. As he becomes more violent, he also becomes more mentally unstable and drives away Robin.

Robin escaped from Az-Bat and the Batcave in his new car, Redbird. Tim had to start school the next day, and he had a date with Ariana to a school dance. A car theft group struck at the dance and stole the most expensive of the cars. Robin went out later and was caught by a local sheriff.




The Trigger Twins hijack train six hundred, the Transit Authority’s collection train. Azrael as Batman chases the stolen train down. This comic is part of Knightquest: The Crusade.

A group of corporative developpers have tested a neurotoxin in the rain forest. Their goal is to push away the restriction that exists concerning internationally protected species. No species, no restrictions. So they think.

Catwoman and a group of animal rights protectors are planning to cut short their plans at the world meeting that is going to be held in Gotham City this week. Then the notes containing the formula to the secret poison are stolen...




Catwoman is busted by Batman as she tries to use a decoy to draw out the thieves who stole the xyklon-c, a lethal nerve gas, intended to be used to get rid of the people and animals of the rain forest in order to clear the way to development. Problem is, the thieves, part of an animal rights movement, are intending, on their part, to use the gas in the building holding the convention of corporates here in Gotham City.

By stopping Catwoman, Batman might just have sent them to their death...




A block of ice containing Mr. Freeze is pulled out of the Gotham River and taken to the morgue. He revives and is brutally stopped by Azreal as Batman. This comic features Gotham police detectives Bullock and Montoya. Montoya witness the Batman’s brutality and is shaken.

Full title is Knightquest, The Crusade: The Shadow of the Bat Falls Upon The Immigrant: Rosemary's Baby.

An illegal immigrant named Rosemary comes to Gotham to buy back her baby which was sold in order to have bail money for the release of her husband Raoul. However, the baby is adopted in the black market and Raoul can't be saved. The Batman can't stop the entire operation but at least he saves a vanload of babies from the same fate.

This Batman dons a powersuit which covers his face fully and has metal claws. His torso is covered in gold armor. He refers to being a product of "the system." This is truly a different Batman. He even says he hates detective work and the boredom it entails.

The revealing truth comes out as the Batman talks about his father's use of hypnosis and his system.




The Corrosive Man busts out of prison and soaks in the rain. Joe Public beats up a gang holding someone from another gang up at knife point. Batman (Jean Paul Valley) berates Joe Public for not apprehending the guy the gang was holding up and tells him to quit the superhero business. Joe Public reflects maybe its not as easy as it seems.

Batman finds Corrosive Man who is looking for Mort Kadaver and winds up on the losing end of their first fight. Joe Public finds Corrosive Man just as Batman is about to spray him with a high pressure hose. Public tries to tell Corrosive Man he wants to help reform him but ends up getting his clock cleaned before Batman jumps in to save him. Corrosive Man has Batman down and almost out and Joe Public is doubting whether he should use his powers. Batman yells at him to use them and Joe Public's powers revert Corrosive Man back to his human form.

Back at Wayne Manor Jean Paul is reflecting on how Bruce Wayne managed to run two lives while being Batman. He rebuilds his armor and pledges to protect Gotham no matter what.




Batman (Jean Paul Valley) is finding it difficult to continue on his crusade, taking on gangbangers in the subway, he's losing his identity.

Meanwhile Gunhawk and Bunny snipe Mr. R. Renfrew Talmadge from a rooftop, killing him on his birthday.

Montoya and Bullock are called to the scene of the crime to investigate. Bullock contacts Batman who reacts indifferently to the news that Talmadge was murdered.

At Bunny & Gunhawk's wilderness hideaway, Gunhawk admires a military prototype weapon in Bullets & Babes magazine. Gunhawk wants to steal it.

Batman interrupts Arnold Hockert taking a girl into his condo and gets him to admit paying off Gunhawk to kill Talmadge. Batman returns to the Batcave to find out who Gunhawk is and discovers Robin has been snooping around but leaves that for later.

Gunhawk and Bunny show up to the gun show where the prototype is on sale and start a firefight with other gun show aficionados. Batman shows up and they open fire on them, Gunhawk tries to pursue him but Bunny is shot by another gun show patron. Gunhawk picks Bunny up and runs away as a tattered Batman looks on from the rafters.

Batman (Jean Paul Valley) is trying out his new batsuit that fires two thousand razor-thin batarangs on some targets in the batcave while Gunhawk rushes Bunny into an emergency room, threatening the staff with pistols.

The police surround the hospital while Batman rushes to the scene in the Batmobile, Gunhawk destroys a few cop cars with his new prototype gun. The Lieutenant in charge tries to negotiate with Gunhawk, with the intent to snipe him if he shows himself. Batman shows up and Gunhawk attacks. The two exchange rounds until Batman uses his flamethrower to send Gunhawk through the floor, gaining the upper hand. Desperate, Gunhawk tries to take a hostage only to find out its a dummy. SWAT enters the building, not knowing Batman is in the building. Out of ammo, Batman pounces on Gunhawk. SWAT blows into the room and distract Batman enough for Gunhawk to run away, the two tumble down the stairs and they both appear knocked out. Montoya and Bullock look on as Lt. Kitch reads Gunhawk his rights as he regains consciousness while Batman watches from a corner.
