His home world as Glee Anselm, one of the characteristics of his species are those "tentacles" in the head, they serve a purpose of detecting the pheromones in the air, witch gave him an advance to know the people's feelings. In 41 BBY he took as an apprentice Bant Eerin after the death of his master, Tahl by the hands of Balog (the person who almost let Qui-gon Jinn to the Dark Side because of his close friendship with Tahl).
