King Kong (subtitled inside the comic "le robot" but not on the covers) was a French series reprinting of Valiant character Mytek the Mighty published by Éditions de l'Occident from April 1972. Presumably hoping to capitalise on the better name recognition of the famous giant movie ape from Skull Island, the French translation renamed the character King Kong (NB: the movie Kong does not appear, and, apart from the obvious similarity in both characters being giant apes, there is no other connection between Kong and Mytek). Page counts varied from issue to issue, generally around the 122 page mark, but going up or down a few pages to accommodate stopping the each issue's reprint at an appropriate point in the story. After 16 issues, the last in October 1974, the series had reprinted all of Mytek's UK adventures and came to an end, but between January 1977 and May 1978 Mon Journal reprinted the series again, numbering this second printing as issues 17 through 32.
