Killraven # 6 - War of the Worlds 6
Killraven # 6 - War of the Worlds 6 wrapped up story lines too quickly.Despite that I totally despies Grok, the Clonal Man.making him a villian was off the track. It would have been better to use an already established villian.like the Warlord. And the Martians simply gave and either went underwater or drowned or something in the end.I like Killraven desided to stay with the human survivors in the end,but it might have been better ,if he did blow New York in an early or first issue.Instead, conquore it,force the Martian Masters and use it as his free human zone-take on the Martians from the Big Apple.
That way,we would progress of his revolution, step bt step.Still, this is a series worthe collecting into a Graphic Novel format.Jesus fans stick Spider-Man and the X-Men through crap periods, but they don't give certain low expected material material a second look.Killrave here is worth the time, folks.Maybe Alan Davis or someone needs to re-work this property again-not Rob Liefield though, someone with creativity and vision.KR's a good character done right. This six part mini series shows the characters potential.Given the right brains behind all of it,the character could work.It just needs for the hacks and morons to lay off.
Think Star Wars,as in an epic story-heroes fighting a great evil-act.one,two and three, four, five and six parts.think Indepence Day,with Conan at the Center.Conan leading an army against the villians{Witch shall be Born,Hour of the Dragon,Scarlet Citadel,Tower of the Elephant.}.The book could work, you just have to forget superheroes and much of the original series-start over fresh.Giving Killraven captain America's shield might ok,but 90 of % comic creators relie too on comic history-piticularly the characters own history-even when it really stinks and female soap opera writting. The limitations of the material-superhero material killed the original,as partially this did and anything else done with Killraven.Kr is more Star Wars,More Conan,More H,G,Wells original, than some guy running around in tights, fighting crime.Comic creators limit their visionb,by sticking everything into a little fanboy superhero, action comic box.And that why Killraven /War of the Worlds stunk. It wasn't the creation, but his creators and your lack of given untried failures -past characters handled poorly a chance. You guys will characters past their worth 30 or 40 years, but let Killraven step and ohh here comes more crap. The fault lies not in the character, but your giving him or her worth.
Doc Thompson.
