This issue ends the first story arc, picking up with the title character as well as the recently orphaned Hit Girl getting ready to take revenge on the Genovese Gang for the murder of Big Daddy and the duo's own betrayal at the hands of former crime fighter, The Red Mist. Kick-Ass is in my opinion one of Miller's best work. Why? It's new, it's fresh, it creative, it's.. Different! And that is becoming harder to come by in Comic-Books these days, so when people like me get tired of the Superman's and Wolverine's of the Comic-Book industry you can pick up this comic and really enjoy and different view on being a Superhero! The Film Will Be More Fun! 0
It’s sometimes hard to work out what Kick Ass is truly meant to be. While many people have been quick to describe it as a deconstruction of the genre, I can’t help thinking it feels more like a satire, especially given the treatment that Dave Lizewski receives at the hands of his creator throughout the book. Some might see this treatment as Millar taking a huge swipe at his target audience, but if you view those scenes from a more humorous angle then the rest of the book smartly falls in line. ...
