Origin
A fashion designer, Katie designed clothing for performers, and was successful for some time until she began experiencing artist's block. To reinvigorate her talents, she performed a ritual that enabled her to snare and skin demons to create leather garments. When her payment for the ritual came due she fled, allowing dozens of innocents to die as the demons hunted her. Ultimately she was given a guitar pick that once belonged to John Constantine, and which protected her for as long as she wore it.
Creation
Katie was created by James Tynion IV, Ming Doyle, and Riley Rossmo. She made her first appearance in DC Sneak Peek: Constantine: The Hellblazer #1.
Major Story Arcs
The Hellblazer
Spending some time in a bar, Katie meets Constantine, who does not reveal his identity and convinces her that he is there to help. She tells him an expurgated version of the story that lead her to this point, showing him the pick. He steals the guitar pick from her, bringing her to the attention of the demons she was hiding from. They attack her, and she is flayed alive.
Powers and Abilities
Katie has no known superhuman powers or abilities. She has some basic knowledge of the occult.
