Karma
Character » Karma appears in 1607 issues.
Karma is a mutant with the ability to mentally possess other beings. A founding member of the New Mutants, she is one of the few confirmed and openly lesbian characters. She lost a leg and now has a cybernetic one in its place.
Leg issues (Second Coming Spoiler)
Go with a new leg. Off base but i never understood exactly why Xavier used the chair.
It was shown in Fatal Attractions that he had a Shiar tech suit that allowed him full mobility.

"wasn't he a telekinetic too so shouldn't he have had full mobility regardless of useful legs or not? or was it only telepathy?
i think he did it just to keep that handicapped parking spot...for the good of mutantkind of course.
@Caligula:
ah. misread what you said. i thought you asked if the suit granted him tk. he doesnt have it naturally.maybe X-23 could cut off one of her legs, and they could attach it to her, then X-23 grows a new one.
unrealistic but it would be a riot to see it. then the leg would act like in the horror movie The Hand
whereas it would have a mind of its own, and a toeclaw of course. really with X-Club and then some
present stuff like this shouldn't actual even be an issue.
Xavier isn't a telekinetic. He is telepathic only. However, given the way that other telepatic-only mutants (Psylocke & Emma Frost) have been treated, then I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't suddenly develop a secondary mutation to make up for the writer's lack of imagination :p

She's been receiving more attention lately in an attempt to flesh out her character more. To be honest, I'm much happier with what she's been doing in New Mutants, then her sadistic & overly-sexual appearances in Uncanny over the last few years." Stupid. kill her off. Karma receives more abuse than she does development. End it. Kay thanks. "
Well spotted! I'd missed that tiny piece of techno-leg. Looks a little like Warlock's transmode virus.
@CATMANEXE: Not that I know of. How many can you think of?
some are deceased or in limbo (same difference in comics, snarf!), but U.S.Agent,
Roy Harper, Steel Spider, Bishop, Forge (twice over), Constrictor, Flash Thompson,
Deathlok (all of them), Bucky Barnes, Crimson Commando, Donald Pierce, Martha
Johansson (whole body of course, feel for her), most Cyberforce members, Beta
Ray Bill, many of the Reavers, Frank Castle, Ch'od, Aquaman, Klaw, Kurt Conners,
Ash, The Russian and Ma Gnucci off the top of my head and not including alternate
universe, and i'm sure theres alot more. lol. i guess that would be common in the risking
your life game though. most cyborgs would just be automatic.
edit: forgot Luke Skywalker, wheres my head today?
For the 30+ years Xi'an has been around, she's stil so criminally underdeveloped that it just seems wrong for her life to be nothing more than a series of misgivings.@pixelized said:

Leong and Nga will be dead next.
" @xerox-kitty: that wouldn't surprise me if it was...remember that episode of the 90's X-men when Warlock turned into a leg for Forge? "lol! That was so bad, but enjoyable!

That's why I'm happy for Zeb Wells to try & flesh her out (no pun intended) a bit more. Instead of the sick stereotyping (the lesbian queen of the female harem).

They may as well be for all the appearances & growing they've made over the last 30 years ;p
Shame Forge isn't around anymore. The X-Men would be sportin' all manner of cybernetic limbs if he were.
Karma has went through a lot yet they haven't developed her character or powers to match that at all.
Karma is one of my favorrite characters. I grew kup reading the New Mutants and was always pissed that she wouuldd return for a hot minute and then disappear to take care of those needy little siblings of hers.
I hope that this allows her character to be fleshed out.
She interested me because of her resilance. She survived Vietnam and her sadistic brother and uncle. She was strong enough power-wise to control spiderman and all of the Fantastic Four. She survived the Shadow King and being turned into a huge fat slob.
"is there an official amputee list on cv? if not there should be because they rule! "

Why are so many characters losing body parts, this is really starting to anger me
Me, too. I think some writers think losing body parts = angst, and if the X-Men do anything, it's indulge in angst.
That said, I also don't get why Elixir couldn't re-attach or grow her a new leg. At the very least she should have a cloned leg made to replace the old one or a more human looking cybernetic leg. It's funny how they have tech that allows them to go into space, create holograms and build energy weapons of every conceivable size but their medical technology doesn't seem any more advanced than advil.
