He's the personal assassin for a being that can kill you with his eyes. How come he's not more respected?

I'd imagine it's because, like Steppenwolf, he's surrounded by much more memorable characters. Darkseid, Kalibank, Granny Goodness, the Furies, they all have a really unique and interesting design. Kanto, for the most part, is just a human in a weird outfit. Sure, he's a badass, like all New Gods, but he just doesn't stand out.

Honestly if he pops up in a story I know who he is but I always completely forget about him the second he's off panel

ummm harming swashbuckler with a high tech dildo........? thats kinda interesting......kinda......ok not really Hopefully he still has connections to Martian Manhunter and will be revamped soon.
