So, it seems that Ben Reilly returns (Scarlet Spider #21). How will Kaine react? Do you think that Ben will reclaim his mantle? Furthermore, if that's the case, will Kaine be "eager" to give it back?

@phaedrusgr: I reckon this is going to another Jackal Clone. Ben was his first success at cloning Peter so it does stand to reason he would keep some of the data on how he created Ben (or even DNA of Ben himself) incase he ever needed to recreate a perfect copy of Pete again.

I think its going to be a clone of Ben reprogrammed by the Jackal that Kaine will end up killing.

What if this new Ben Reilly will eventually be the body used for Peters consciousness to return and fight off SpOck until they can swap bodes?

@strider92: Yost said he's Ben Reilly. That means memories etc. Of course, we can all guess Jackal's clone could have Ben's memories somehow someway, if that serves the plot.

@arturocalakayvee: I thought of that. I don't know if that's the exit Slott has imagined for his "redeemed hero" a.k.a. Doc Ock. It's a possibility though.

I'm really curious at the moment, cause things are soooo complicated for the Spider family.

@phaedrusgr: Well Miles fought Ben on many occasions during the clone saga it wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility that he has a copy of Ben's DNA after he became the Scarlet Spider and thus has the memories.

@sadiavicious: Yeah, Kaine must remain alive and keep the Scarlet Spider mantle. He's doing great thanks to Yost of course. I don't think Yost has Kaine's death in his mind. Nevertheless, I want to see Ben, don't know what his role would be, but I definitely want to see him coming back.

Christopher Yost: I see Ben Reilly's character through Kaine's lens: the man that Kaine tortured and hounded for so long, the perfect clone of Spider-Man. The clone that Kaine wasn't. The true hero, the man who gave his life for Peter. The ideal that Kaine can never live up to.

Reilly's appearance could be a product of hallucination poisons used by Kravs. I think Kraven is trying to get Kaine to re-kill him, given he's also Peter in a way and might rid him of the "unlife" curse.

Interesting theory with Kraven, considering that the covers have the tombs of annabelle and other supporting cast.

At the end of 20 the Jackal is holding a KAINE "bottle" or something....with Kaine's DNA particles.....there's no return....the new Ben is a Kaine clone.

Ben is the only real Scarlet Spider. Kaine will probably step down to show respect. That is the whole reason Kaine is calling him self Scarlet Spider, to show respect to Ben. therefore it makes no sense for Kaine not to step down. Ben is even closer to be the real Spider-man than even PP before spock. Anyways I don't really care since I don't read anything from the Spider-man universe anymore.

Well he is a clone of Kaine shown in the current issue cause he lost all the DNA of spock but there is a thing called memory implants.

great issue ! loved the pace of the issue going from each one of the people kaine cares for back to the big reveal oooo Cant wait for next issue

Kaine noticed it wasn't the real Ben, yet after having Ock try and kill him he just went the "gee Peter's being an asshole these days" route. Sigh.

Other than that, nice issue.

@mrgreenlantern: I suppose the consequences of Superior are being delayed so that the story can go on in this status quo. Sadly it means making half the characters in the MU obnoxiously dumb.
