Gog grants members of the Justice Society their heart’s desire
One World, Under Gog Part II: Wish Fulfillment
At the Brownstone, Cyclone deals with her new pet monkey when the now “healed” Damage walks in, shocked on what Gog has done to him. Gog continues his efforts to bring peace and prosperity to the Congo, and in the process, he begins to give members of the Justice Society of America their heart’s true desire. From giving Sandman the ability to sleep again to even doing the one thing to shake even Dr. Mid-nite’s faith. However, other members are still ignored by Gog and Hawkman begins to suspect that something is up. Meanwhile. Power Girl is sent “home.” This arc is really starting to heat up, Geoff Johns said that when Gog kicked into high gear the JSA would find itself torn. I’m starting to see why. How would you like it if you were blind, couldn’t feel, had cancer or just wanted to see your lost family and in one look, you get that and it’s real. Even I have to admit it would make me a believer too. The moments that Johns really shines through is Dr. Mid-nite’s faith and his friendship with Mr. Terrific and just how the one person who would probably side with Gog is going the other way. I loved the opening with Cyclone and her new pet monkey and the Wizard of Oz bits. That was great stuff.
Fernando Pasarin seems to have just gone through the roof on art chores this issue. This has to be one of his strongest issues to date, and you can see the happiness to the followers of Gog who are getting what they want and the determination and yet sadness in Citizen Steel who just wants to feel again but Gog isn’t doing anything for him.
