So here we are with JSA #43 ( Brightest day tie-in ), "The Dark Things: Epilogue". So if you havn't been keeping up with the recent flow of issues from our favouret golden age team let me explain. Recently ( in a JSA/JLA tie in story ark ) a large fragment of the star heart crashed on earth and took controll of Allan Scott, the original green lanters who's powers come from a very small fragment of the star heart. The resulting merge involved the star heart going crazy, taking controlle of meta humans, builging an emerald city on the dark side of the moon and other general evil / bad / very-very-go-sit-in-the-corner-naughty stuff. During the battle with the JSA and JLA both Allens children, Jade and Obsidian were merged into one and attached the 2 heroe teams ( as both their powers represent the light and darkness of the star heart ). After the battle Allan scott was able to take controlle of the new, larger stear heart but unfrotuanatly Obsiden and Jade would be unable to get within 1 mile of one and other due to the merging power of the star heart still being active.

So this issue basicaly sets the tone for the next story ( as you mihgt guess from the word "epilogue" ), so theres no high intense action in it. Basical the emerald city created by the star heart is still in existance on the dark side of the moon and magical and elemental creatures from earth ( and other places ) have decided to move into this new magical haven, all under the leadership of Allan Scott. Allan and Obsiden are flying through the city explaning how it works in essence of population and how Allan has now got a whole lot of new responsibility on his shoulders to keep this magical socity in peace. They talk about the stear heart, and then how Obsiden and Jade would never be able to meet again to to the merging problem and it's affect on magical creature / elemental creatures in general ( we are shown 3 examples ). The 2 then start talking heart to heart ( father and son ). and then.....

It's a nice issue, and explains alot of things. The art work is beutifull and the colouring fantastic and the 2 really set the tone, mood and go with the enviroment. We get some brilliant 2 page and 1 page spreads, whihc in themselfs tell indapendant stories and i really enjoyed the story being told. It should be notted that this is an Allen Scott and Obsiden issue, with refenraces and images ( youll understand what i mena by that when you pick it up ) of other JSA members, which feals right as it acts as both a closure to the last story and an epilogue for the new one.

If you could decifer my way-what way of writing this then you'd know that i really enjoyed this issue and like it. If your more of an action fan this wouldn't be your cup of tea, though i would advice anyone i can to pick it up and read. New readers might find the ideas complcated but not to complicated as it gives enough explanation to let you understand the current situation ( not to mention background ) of these 2 characters.

One great spread doesn't a comic make. Reviewed by GraphicCasualFreak on Oct. 21, 2010. GraphicCasualFreak has written 113 reviews. His/her last review was for Justice League: Doom. 247 out of 325 users recommend his reviews. 1 out of 1 user found this review helpful.
The title refers to a 2 page spread that is around the 8-9 page from the end of the issue.  I really didn't like the story too much and most of the art was good but not compared to that two page spread.  Also the 6-7 pages were also of note considering they too are very good.  But beyond that, I don't have much use for this comic.  I usually really like the JSA but I will be thrilled when this story arc is over.

Story:Alan Scott and Obsidian are watching the Starheart city and talking.

The Good
the issue throws us at the Starheart city again where are Obsidian and Alan Scott.Alan tells his son that after the Starheart is again under control now in it are living mystical creatures. We feel the pain Obsidian is feeling because he can't go near his sister because they will return to that hybrid again.I liked the moment where Alan was telling Obsidian what will happen if he go near him,he tells him three possibilities but he and Dr. Fate found 300.

Jesus Merino return as a artist for this book and I love his style. His take on the JSA is amazing and I love how the Starheart city looks.

The Bad
This issue was a bit strange, last issue wasn't showned or discribed that Alan will be controlong the city. His story where Andrew Bennet was called I didn't get it because they were talking about Jade and then BAM!!!Andrew Bennet and something about him.And how did the JSA appear in the end.

Overall:A good epilogue to the Dark Things with some little mistakes.
