The Good

When you have a comic series featuring all the big guns in the DC Universe, you expect stories to be equally big. That’s what Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok have given us in this current arc. The Amazo Virus started off as what seemed to be a regular Justice League story but soon took off and built into something much larger. There’s been so much to deal within the team in the aftermath of Forever Evil. Besides having to deal with Lex Luthor (and Captain Cold) on the team, they soon discovered Luthor was responsible for an extremely deadly virus that was affecting pretty much everyone. The tables soon turned as it was up to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Luthor to try to save the day. Even the ‘always prepared’ Batman couldn’t fight the odds for too long. This left us with what seem like a comic book cliché, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Lex fighting the rest of the Justice League. Regardless if hero fighting hero is a cliché, we get some pretty epic moments.

Johns could have easily relied on Fabok’s drawing skills to bring this story to a close. Instead, in the midst of the fighting, we do see some really great moments between Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor. Wonder Woman is meant to have a big presence. Johns has really cranked this up lately and the way she addresses Lex, you feel he has no choice in the matter. Superman is also forced to make a choice. This might be the end of the story but there should be some interesting consequences to follow.

The more I see of Fabok’s art, the more and more I dig it. Going along with what I said before, this should be a BIG book. You want big stories and great art. Fabok is killing it. Add in the color by Brad Anderson and you get a really really nice looking issue. Let’s hope Johns and Fabok stay together for some time.

The Bad

I was a little torn with the notion of the Amazo Virus. This story does reach a satisfying conclusion with a lot more to explore in future issues.

The Verdict

The Amazo Virus story might be over but there’s some interesting things that will come out of this. We’re still seeing the Justice League try to get used to the idea of Lex Luthor and Captain Cold on the team. This issue really puts them to the test and shows what they’re capable of when fighting alongside the team. Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok are delivering a nice juicy series with glorious over the top action and visuals. But it’s not all non-stop action as we do see some cool character development as well. I can’t wait to see what’s coming up next in this series. With The Darkseid War coming up, these guys must just be warming up. I have a feeling things are going to get pretty bonkers.

This issue was fantastic. And I loved who showed up at the end!

I like the new Amazo. He has more personality than before. I feel like this ending was rushed, though. I'm interested in Hal's return. I very much enjoyed Wonder Woman in this issue.

Pretty sweet issue, it just makes me want to read The Darkseid War even more

Fantastic arch! They did leave some story theards open which makes me wonder how or if they will effect the darkseid war.

So once again this Justice League is fighting other heroes again. Is it me or has this entire run just been heroes vs. heroes? When are we going to see the Justice League fight some actual villains for once?

I don't get your complaint ? If you want to complaint about heroes vs heroes then Hickman Avengers is the book

Wonder Woman really stood out in this issue(If you read her own comic today her and batman had a beautiful conversation), and it seems like she will be the lasso that ties Lex and cold to the light side and pool them Closer.I still feel Shazam should be in the JLD instead.

Wondy whooped a lot a$$ in this I must say.

I am excited to see this new humans who got superpower after the effect of Amazo Virus. This kind of people that live in Metropolis can be trouble to Superman or can help Superman to fight crime

Great issue.

I loved Supermans attitude.

I loved Wonder Woman kicking butt.

I loved Amazo now having a real body.

I still think Lex joining the team sucks but works wonders from a story telling point of view.

This issue was written very well. And I agree with the OP about the art too.

@justice_teen: The whole team is composed of occult based characters, Vertigo characters, darker characters (hence the name) Captain Marvel doesn't fit in with them on any thematic level.

Captain Cold taking pics on his phone was priceless

This was worth only 2/5,and 2 only because Fabok is a phenomenal artist. What exactly was the point of this entire arc? nothing happened in the slightest aside from Johns retconning his own work as usual. Did Johns not show Ivo creating Amazo with in the pages of this very book?(as it should be) now Johns retconned Amazo in to some lame ass virus created by Lex,what's next is he going to give him the Omega Beams too? his wankery is astounding.

As for the arc itself,this story only deserved 2 issues. They had the cure,they KNEW they had the cure,they had the power to incapacitate the victims with the said power being SIGNATURE to one of the characters involved. So why exactly did we waste half a year on this mediocrity is beyond me. If it weren't for Darkseid War I would have dropped this.

He fits just fine. JL is tech based, JLD is magic based and Captain Marvel is a magically fuelled Superman. As it is he's redundant on Justice League (does he have a purpose other than to provide Cyborg with someone to play games with?), the JLD could use some actual muscle, the only problem is that he's a kid.
