    Justice League Throne Of Atlantis

Hi guys so i don't normally do this but i just recently watched this movie and i was severely disappointed. So before i go any further i will say if you are reading this there maybe some SPOILERS if you don't want to know its probably best not to read furthers. for those of you who have seen it or don't mind spoilers here are my thoughts on the movie...

Ok so this movie starts very strong. I liked the opening making everything flow through from Justice League War which was excellent I really enjoyed how it stayed true to the movie story line and don't get me wrong this movie had a really good premise, there's nothing wrong with a classic story of the half brother who is meant to be king, its been done its a good formula if done well. However this movie did not deliver it the way i wanted it to. The main issues i had with the movie was that it had a lot of inconsistencies which i will list.

    1) The power of the trident. In this movie we see that Arthurs brother (Ocean Master) uses this trident flawlessly as any royalty would someone who would spend years training to fight. Yet when we see the fights with the Justice League and the trident Ocean Master is immensely more powerful than the whole Justice league combined. The lightning Shazam(captain Marvel) uses which is derived from Zeus himself was weaker than the lightning from the trident and according to my mythology Zeus was stronger the Poseidon. I know they had to make him powerful being the main villain however they made him too powerful going by this logic this means Aqua Man should be the strongest hero on the team as he now wields the trident.

    2) This goes with the first point. During the fights they have with Ocean master they fight him one on one. Come on guys seriously why don't you all attack at the same time. Ocean master is of royal blood in atlantis, you would know not to take him on one on one. Considering Wonderwoman is a princess and shes very skilled at fighting what makes you think you could take him on.

    3) Superman ragdolling. Ok this one i don't mind as much mainly because everyone complains Superman is too op but in this movie hes taken down so easily by the trident its ridiculous infact everyone is taken down by the trident (except batman because.... well hes Batman)

    4) During the movie it is stated multiple times that the trident can only be wielded by royal blood... Ok then why the F**k does the old guy at the end able to use it to crown arthur as the new king. What did the trident some how become impotent? This really pissed me off how ti broke the rules of the movie. I have no problems with making rules in movies but if you direct the movie and break the rules yourself then its not going to look good. (only the Transporter can break his own rules)

    5) There was way too many jumps in the movie early on. The movie kept jumping from one place to the next and then to another IT was hard to keep up with what was going on.

    6) Plot hole in the story. The queen knew that her son (ocean master) used a fake submarine to bomb her people and then she dies. Ok what about the scout that knew what was going on. the scout relays this message to the queen, the queen confronts her son and then she dies. must be a coincidence.

    7) Cyborg can some how make virtual projections all across the city. Ok first point to this is he just recently got stabbed in the chest and after batman uses a taster to energize Cyborgs suit he come how has the power to create virtual holograms. I dont know much about energy usage but id expect you would need like half a nuclear power plant's energy to set up holograms across a whole city. (unless batmans taser is a pocket power plant which would be really unsafe to use in combat) secondly why would a whole army of atlantians submit after seeing this there is such things as photoshop or video edit. How could they accept what they saw was real. I mean if i was a Loyal servant for the king and i went to war for him then suddenly a hologram of him saying he killed the queen and took her place i wouldn't believe it because i am so loyal to the king. Guess atlantians aren't loyal to their king

    8) All the heroes really aren't needed in this movie. I mean this was hardly a Darkseid invasion. there was like 1 guy. 2 if you count Manta as an enemy.

8.1) Seriously Manta got beaten by getting eaten by a shark. anticlimactic much.

    9) For someone who is just a casual civilian Arthur sure knows how to fight. i mean in the first fight you see him in yes it was what i would say is a proper interpretation. you see clearly he doesn't know how to fight like pro but because he can withstand hits and is slightly stronger physically he takes down the 5 guys that fight him because he wouldn't let them eat a crayfish.(shellfish)

9.1) Seriously 5 guys fighting 1 guy over crayfish. legit crayfish is not even worth it. its like $50 AUD for a Crayfish im not going to fight for it either. I have not seen anyone fight for food its not the end of the world we have plenty of food.

9.2) getting back to arthur fighting. Ok so lets assume he is a fisherman. how many fishermen do you know that some how knows how to fight 5 guys on 1. Not to mention he wakes up the next day is is pursued by elite Atlantian soldiers who for some reason this fisher man can somehow fight them off until the atlantian soldiers start shooting at him.

9.3) This movie was not long enough physically within the movie or externally for arthur somehow learn how to fight like an elite soldier or better.

    10) Arthur somehow develops powers to control sea creatures. ok so why him and why now. It is way to convenient not to mention that skill would most likely take alot of time and concentration.

    Final Thoughts

What i thought would have been a great movie turned out to be a disaster in the story telling. I Had high hopes that this movie would follow the strength of the previous movies Flashpoint Paradox and Justice League War however what i got was a waste of time. The movie has a very classic story to it about the half brother coming home to claim his throne but the evil brother wants the crown and hates him for it. I have no issues with this type of story but with so many ploy holes and inconsistencies in the movie i just could not enjoy it. On a high note it did end on a cliff hanger my only hope is that they don't use him again in the next 5 movies (AHEM... LOKI... AHEM) seriously though you don't want to over use a villain they become bland after the 2nd movie.

I hope you guys enjoyed my review hit me up let me know what you think. This is of course my opinion some of you Comic loving fans may have LOVED this movie.

      Watered down Johns 0

There is really no other way of saying this, so;Throne of Atlantis was a terrible story in comics and riddled with Johns' usual fan-logic that puts his current favorite character on the same level of gods and Kryptonians. And the movie just plays as a watered down version of the already flimsy story... only now we have to put up with Arthur's cliche origins of being an outsider finding out he's the king of a land he's never heard of and overcoming his reluctance to lead this place... and hook up...

Not The Worst, but getting there. 0

Not a lot of people are fans of Aquaman. That's just the truth. He has been the butt of many a superhero joke for decades. And even though there have been more than a few stories and incarnations that paint him in a more attractive light, Arthur Curry's good name has been dragged through the mud far too long to be easily cleaned now.But in the past few years, DC and WB have tried to do just that. With bigger and better roles in big comics stories, support behind his own comics titles, the promi...
