This movie is dark, flat, and downright awful

I know a lot of people enjoy this movie, but it's just terrible! When I watched this, I expected myself to see a terrible alternate universe that a hero has to reverse. Simple formula, right? Well, the movie thinks if it oversaturates that message to death, then it's a good movie. Wrong idea.

This movie is not only dark, but it's depressingly dark! Almost every character that's in action gets only a few hits before they're gunned down like meaningless puppets! I know it's supposed to reinforce the message that this universe is bad and you want to get out of it, but that's not a good excuse to take out personality in the characters that have been well-established before get totaled as mere tools of a gritty war! Heck, Deathstroke doesn't even get a decent fight, and Ron Perlman returns to voice him for less than a minute! These characters and the story of the alternate universe I would have loved to see shape their complex psyche; instead we just get bland psychopaths killing each other because the story demands it! I could not feel any sympathy for Wonder Woman and Aquaman not because they're ruthless tyrants, but because even their backstory is so shallow, contrived, overdramatic and stupid that they start a full-scale war instead of, oh I don't know, talking about their feelings first?! This hollow idea of trying to force down an apocalyptic world ends up becoming so boring and so empty of any enjoyment when the movie tries to take away any fun out of a comic book and turn it into a holocaust of blood and shooting each other for no reason!

The only characters and stories I actually felt invested in were Flash, Superman, and Batman because they have stories, they have legitimately unique character interactions, they have an interesting personality and sympathetic actions and drives. Batman in my opinion is a better representation of how such a violent world changed memorable people; from a father he becomes a cold-hearted widow and even then you can tell he's still trying to retain any goodness in the world even if it means embracing the harsh reality. That's what's missing in the other characters: they don't HAVE any character nor struggle, all they're good for is being tools for the plot, and as a result they're confined to literal weapons wearing human suits with no development whatsoever. It's so forced that it's nearly finish watching this movie without cringing at the gory scenes, which is so frequent that the movie even forces you not to feel emotional for so many deaths!

I do not recommend this movie for kids nor do I recommend it for people who care about the integrity of comics and character, because this movie is dedicated to taking out any integrity or character! But if you want to see it and draw your own opinion, that's your choice.

Another smash hit from DC animation! 0

WARNING SOME SPOILERS AHEAD. A part of the magic of this movie is finding the hidden Easter eggs and references in this movie so if you're a minor spoiler purist... Anyway, you've been warned.I somehow luckily managed to get to see Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox early and I have to say, I couldn't be happier with this movie. I know that many people disliked the Flashpoint event for being somewhat, "scattered", but, like with Under the Red Hood; DC animation has turned an ok comic story i...
