Poll Would this version of the Justice League work? (19 votes)

Yes/This is an alright JLA team for a "Marvel-boy" 32%
No/This team is fundamentally flawed 26%
Maybe/This team has potential but needs reworking 42%

I've always been a bigger Marvel fan than of DC but I've been wanting to take a crack at making a Justice League team. So my team is:

    Superman

    Batman

    Wonder Woman

    Flash (Barry Allen)

    Green Lantern (Hal Jordon)

    Hawkwoman (Shayera Hol)

    Plastic Man

    Black Canary

    Martian Manhunter

    Aquaman

    Black Lightning

    Green Arrow

    Stargirl

So does this team seem like it could work? Are there any specific conditions? Why or why not. Help a poor guy who loves Marvel but has a soft spot for DC since he grew up with Batman, Superman and JL/JLU out. Please?

No. You have A listers with B listers.

I don't see Hawkgirl, blackcanary, Plas, GA, StarGirl, or the Martian having good chemistry with the founding members (bats being the exception).

Cyborg needs to be in the team. The only new one i might add is BlackLightning or Aquamans wife Mera. She would be a good choice.

Team is too big imo, I really wouldn't read a book that features a double digit roster.

Personally the founding 7 members are the only ones you need. Its boring originality wise, but it works.

If you wana add more I'd say Stargirl makes by far the most sense on your list. She's got unique powers and is a girl in a mostly sausage fest. After that maybe Plastic Man or Black Lightening.

Green Arrow and Black Canary (though I love them) are basically pointless with Batman present. He has all their resources and skill and the Canary cry isn't that big a of deal. Hawkgirl is also not bringing much to the table.

Depends pre-new 52 may have worked but post new 52 the only ones on the JL are the first four and Aquaman, GL quit in Justice League #12. Stargirl, Green Arrow and Martian Manhunter are in the JLA. Plastic Man and Shayera Hal don't exist (since hawkgirl in earth 2 is Kendra Sunders) and Black Lightning is currently in a team with Blue Devil

What @fallschirmjager said, far too big. The main seven, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter all work fine. Yes, some part of me would have Green Arrow, Black Canary and Plastic man on a team but their not important as the main seven as concern.

All members highlighted have been in the JLA for a long time and had amazing chemistry / participated in some of the best JLA stories.

It's a huge team but it's good. Alot of the characters you listed have already been in the JLA so it's a fit anyway.

@lifeboy: so did Grant Morrisons JLA and it was the most successful run on the book.

@avenging_x_bolt: @arturocalakayvee: so basicly, a team with that many members, lets just put everybody in the justice league right?

I don't know how you got to that conclusion. The classic roster was made up of A and B listers and it worked. Morisson did something similar and it worked. Same with the animated shows. It's meant to be a team of the best of the best heroes. So not everyone can join it. But there's nothing wrong with having strength in numbers.

Classic Justice League lineup (minus Firestorm)

I say no/fundamentally flawed and here's why, it's too big. For a Justice League story to work IMO, you need to have a maximum of 7 members, having more than that makes it hard to for the writers to develop and keep track of them all and you'll end up having many arcs where certain heroes are ignored, which I think is a disservice to those particular characters.

Nice effort though, especially with adding heroes who many people would not normally have picked for the league (Stargirl).

@avenging_x_bolt: ok, ok, then you can take your opinions and run with them

It's not an opinion. The league's most successful stories and runs have never just been with the big seven. It's been the big 7 working with lesser known heroes. It's not an opinion, it's concrete fact. Grant Morrison created a JLA team compromised of A listers and basically C and D listers as well and it became the most critically acclaimed run. Then you just check out it's follow up series that didn't even have the full big 7 roster and instead had a lot of "random" heroes and that was successful too. The JLA was never about the big 7, in fact it was rare that they were all on the team at the same time of the last 20 or 30 years.

Maybe exept Stargirl, all had been working together in several times and/or been on Justice League of America.

@avenging_x_bolt: It's not even like we're attacking him, you and I both were just informing him that the most successful iterations of the League didn't involve just the seven. I do wonder if he's read JLA stories prior to the reboot because that could explain his extreme anger and unknowingness.

I know i've said it before, but this would be a great team as long as you put the right writers on it and handle it correctly.

I had to say no but here is why. Like others stated to many characters. If your going to have the most powerful characters on a team you don't need a lot of them. Its just redundant. I've always thought this when I read avengers or JLA comic with a ton a characters. Now that I think bout it it really depends on what the teams purpose is.
