No doubt, the JLA is one of (if not the) most powerful superhero teams in all of comicdom. Which of the founding seven (pre-Flashpoint) is the most powerful? Which has the most impressive non-PIS feats?

Batman and Superman have the best feats.

Supes got the feats I think. J'onn has the widest array of abilities. Hal, the Flash and Wonder Woman are all beasts in their own rights. And remember, if it comes to magic you start looking for Wonder Woman immediately while the rest get nervous. Aquaman always seems weak but when you get stuck next to these powerhouses its hard to shine. On most other teams he would be one of the most powerful.

Batman is a completely different animal. Its like comparing Lex Luthor to Doomsday as powerful villains. Clearly Doomsday is way more powerful but only a fool would count Lex out. Same with Batman in this crowd.

going by pure powerset and capabilities alone, Martian Manhunter followed by Superman>Flash>Wonder Woman> Hal jordan>Aquaman> a non prepped Batman

Kind of depends, I think it depends on what you needed them for.  Superman for beating up Darkseid, but I would choose Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter or Green Lantern in a lot of situations over him

going by terms of raw power i'd say it would be

Superman> j'onn> Wonder Woman> Flash> GL> Aquaman> Batman

Flash/Martian>Superman>Wonder Woman>Hal>Aquaman

I think Manhunter has the widest variety of powers....useful powers, I'd say he is

This is a great point. But in terms of raw power against a random enemy I'd list them as follows:

Superman> Martian Manhunter> Wonder Woman> Hal> Flash> Aquaman> Unprepared Batman

Of course each of them has their strengths and weaknesses and against one of their own opponents they should be favored (Superman may be the most powerful being on earth but against the Joker he has been consistently outclassed) but the above is my ranking for them

I would have to say Martian Manhunter is the most powerful over all.

Each character has things they excel in, of course, but none can match the Manhunter's over all power.

Superman>MM>Flash>Wonder Woman>Green Lantern>Aquaman>Batman

Superman, GL, and Flash have the most impressive feats.

Whether you're looking at historical feats or future potential, you have to take Superman. Of all the alternate earths and future timelines, he ends up being the most dominant.

Besides, I think weaknesses hurt a hero more than superpowers help a hero. So even though Supes has a lot of powers, it's the fact that he's so darn tough that puts him in a league above the Amazon's, the Lantern's or the Martian.

J'onn = Most versatile/Highest chance of beating them all

Batman = Strongest PIS

Superman probably has the most impressive feats but I'd say that either Green Lantern or Martian Manhunter are most powerful due to base stats and versatile powersets.

I'm kind of surprised at some of the answers I'm getting. You'd think that with all the praise Flash gets on almost every battle forum, that he'd be the popular vote.

Superman in terms of personal power.

Aquaman in terms of military and political power.

Batman wins.

I don't see Aquaman running around changing the universe.

Superman, Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern. Those guys have the best feats and are the most powerful in my opinion.

lol yea i wouldnt have chosen him either. While i believe Flash is important i wouldnt say he is the most powerful. While i believe Matrian Manhunter is the most dangerous when all hope is lost and it looks like all is doomed Superman is alays the one people look to to be saved, even heroes.

Okay.

I'd say superman because he has everything speed,flight,strength,breath,vision powers,space without breathing, and all this on levels not even martian manhunter or wonder woman can even imagine. His mind is advanced and pretty much immune to psychic attacks or take over once he puts him mind to it, (telepathy,intangible) is nothing that supes needs he did fine all these years without those powers.
