Hi all :) wanted to start a thread that looks in detail at each of the 7 members of the New 52 Justice League's particular niche/role in the team. Detailed explanations would be awesome! So without further ado let's jump in and examine what Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Cyborg individually bring to the team!
Justice League of America
Team » Justice League of America appears in 3324 issues.
The Justice League (also known as the Justice League of America or the JLA) is a team comprised of the premier heroes of the DC Universe.
The roles of each member of the New 52 Justice League
Honestly, I think that there could be better choices for the main Justice League. While I love that cyborg is now in the team,(because God knows they needed a racial difference on the team) he is honestly not needed and him like many others the same. Anyways though, I'm not answering the question...
- Superman: everything, lowkey, Superman is the Justice League.
- Batman: A level head if nothing else, though I think its important to know that he not properly utilized on the team at all. Batman should definitely leave.
- Cyborg: Technical abilities, strength
- Flash: Speed
- Wonder Woman: She brings a migraine to everyone she comes in contact with
- Aquaman: Highly underrated character in my opinion, excluding the Green Lantern, Aquaman has a little of everyone in him. Fighting skills, smarts, strength, and speed
- Green Lantern: Picks up the slack and can handle basically whatever the others can't.
- Superman- Team leader, good public image, jack of all trades
- Batman- Team strategist, money, tech
- Wonder Woman- Warrior's spirit, feminine touch
- Green Lantern- Team instigator, wields the supposed "most powerful weapon in the universe"
- Flash- Level-headed, team speedster, keeps peace
- Aquaman- King of 2/3's of the earth, money, Atlantean tech
- Cyborg- Tech, transportation
- Superman: Primary Powerhouse (Strength, Speed, Durability, Flight, Freeze Breath, Eye Beams, Extra Senses, Deus X Machina Factor), he is seen as the "best" by the public and his peers (though it's still early for DCnU)
- Batman: Tech, Inteligense, Planning, Leadership, h2h skills, detective skills, funding
- Cyborg: Tech, Transportation, Instant Information, Long Range Firepower
- Flash: Speed, Time Travel Experience, Invastigative Experience (via Keystone City PD training)
- Wonder Woman: Secondary Powerhouse (Strength, Speed, Durability, Flight), Olympian Weaponry , Warrior Training
- Aquaman: Secondary Powerhouse (Strength, Speed, Durability, Leaping), Telepathy, Major Damage Dealer (Trident), Atlantean Army & Weaponry, Leadership, Warrior Training
- Green Lantern: Primary Powerhouse, Primary Energy Manipulator, Shields & Transportation, Cosmic Knowledge & Information (via GL corps)

Awe . . . come on now.
Superman-Primary powerhouse,current team soul
Batman-team leader, strategist, writer's whipping boy
Wonder Woman-team berserker, feminine touch, supernatural expert
Green Lantern-team instigator, wild card, cosmic expert
Aquaman-secondary powerhouse, second in command
Flash-team speedster, team heart,
Cyborg-tech,transportation
I actually see Cyborg's biggest role being communication and research. Boom Tubes are a perk. But everyone but Batman and Aquaman can fly or move at high speeds anyway.
For Batman I think being the master detective is his most important archetype. He's also god at everything else, but the detective is the most essential.
Wonder Woman is less a supernatura lexpert than a greek mythology expert to me.
Flash is the speedster, he does that to the max and has to be the fastest.
And Superman despite all his abilities really is the strongest and toughest. I mean yeah he is one of the earliest heroes and is the paragon for which all other comic heroes are measured against, but as for his role on the team he is really the strongest.
Green Lantern is hard to peg. He has the most potential and his ring is unquantifiable versatile. As for his role on the team he's a powerful hero, but he's been primarily comic relief in this book so far.
That about covers everything that wasn't mentioned. I think everyone else pretty much nailed it.
Its a crap team the chemistry is all fucked up
Superman - Is The new JL
Batman - Can´t do anything accept get insulted by GL
Wonder Woman - Watered down version of former self and now can truly be called the female Superman
Cyborg - Steals Batman´s position
Green Lantern - geoff johns sexual addiction (No geoff he´s never going to be as liked as Superman or Batman so just drop it)
Aquaman - A fish, can we drop him already. MMH is much better.
Flash - Boring thanks to Geoffs sexual addiction to GL. Cause GL has to be the funny one, right?
@SUNMAN: @Press Oblivion: @comicfan11: @comicfan11: @MasterAction:
Here´s an idea, bring back the team from the animated series. They are the best JL team ever, all the parts worked, just flesh out the characters more and drop Hawk Girl.

I agree but have a better Idea Bruce Timm is the new Chief Creative Officer
@jphulk26: I disagree.
Morisson's JLA was the best JL ever, and Hawkgirl has no place on the team if it means taking the place of either Aquaman or Martian Manhunter.
I like what you said there @EmperorJosh with Aquaman having a little bit of everyone in him. That is precise! and with telepathy, a lil' bit of John as well :D
Durability to withstand falling from an airplane, machine gun fire, speed to avoid bullets and swim at mach 10, telepathy, night vision, etc.. seriously, dude's a powerhouse.
Going back to the topic at hand, i still remain lukewarm with 52JL. I really think that there are much more and better stories to tell, feats to show..
@batman_begins thanks man, and you're right on both points. Aquaman was highly underrated for the longest time and it was the most annoying thing in the world. I first fell in love with him and the martian Manhunter when they had to hold off the Injustice League in JLA Earth 2, and they did it almost single handedly. Amazing and it truley showed their power and abilities.
Further more, the whole story with Darkseid just fell flat to me. The Throne of Atlantis was much better, but I think that Johns could tap into something deep, but he just can't or doesnt.
Superman - muscle and the ultimate back-up
Batman- the brains and adds the whole im-better-because im-not-a-demigod factor
Wonder Woman- Female factor
Flash- should be the first to respond in a crisis
Green Lantern- near limitless power and abilities great to have in a fight/battle
Cyborg- transport , only non-white member very important for pr reasons
Aquaman- he got a trident
@avenging_x_bolt: Someone isn't a fan of cyborg.
@thegodamnbatman: I like Cyborg but this thread is clearly talking about the classic big seven which Cyborg is not a part of.
Edit:forgot to check the title of the thread when I replied to this.
