With Batman vs. Superman adding more and more characters (in case you haven't heard, Ray Fisher as Cyborg is the latest addition), it's obvious Warner Bros. is taking big steps to establish a whole new DC cinematic universe. Today the studio has confirmed that yes, they're going to create a Justice League movie! Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, WB's president of worldwide production Greg Silverman confirmed that Batman vs. Superman will lead into Justice League. As expected, Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, Watchmen) will direct.

No release date has been set and a script is currently in development. The website states it's "unlikely" the movie will come out before 2018. Additionally, they say WB has other DC/Vertigo movies in development that are not connected to Justice League. Shazam, Metal Men, 100 Bullets, and Fables were listed.

As for a potential Wonder Woman movie, there's currently no plans, but WB's executives are "warm" to the idea. Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing, added, "with the right script, that could be viable. The world is ready for her."

DC is so messed up, I can't even be hype for this movie.

So cool! But we pretty much already knew this was going to happen. I think the biggest news to come out of this is that theres going to be a Shazam! movie! Now that is awesome.

I think the biggest surprise here is a possible Metal Men movie. If that isn't obscure I don't know what is. Excited for Justice League even though we all kinda figured it was coming around

If DC wasn't such a sh!thole lately I'd be ecstatic about this but I will confess that this is pretty big news.

This was foreseeable. My interest is contingent on the roster though--i.e. John Stewart. And my belief is contingent on seeing a trailer, which may not even come out for 4 years.

None of that is gonna matter if the Man of Steel sequel fails and right now, that movie is looking more like a rushed Justice League film rather than Batman vs. Superman.

DC is gonna be too late to the superhero film party. by 2018, Marvel will have the hero movie industry under it's control. DC will have to make numerous phenomenal, I mean PHENOMENAL movies. even so, DC barely does this with their movies and it takes them years to put out just a single one. DC will have to think of something BIG to beat The Avengers and the rest of the Marvel cinematic Universe. I honestly think if they do, they will have a good chance of slightly appealing more to fans in the Adult age range. But they'd have to do a lot.(merchandising, etc.) Disney has Marvel to get money off of, so it'll be cranking out superhero movies until the cast gets fed up. they did it with Hannah Montana, and LOOK at Miley Cyrus. Marvel is a huge money market for Disney. no WAY they will let DC surpass them. unfortunately. DC was made for a more mature audience, and it's sad to say that's what is killing them. for me, I love DC's movies more than I do Marvel's. but it takes them too long to put out a single movie, that Marvel is gonna take over. DC has cartoon Network, as of connection with kids, and that's about it(let me know if there's more), and even those shows are slowly being cancelled. we'll just have to see.

He did say a "hero" so maybe he'll be the adult version of who ever plays shazam? I mean the kid will do the acting, and the adult guy will just need to be there for fight scene's.

I get the feeling that the two movies will be shot at the same time. I HOPE these two movies will be shot at the same time!

I just dont see the majority of dcs characters other than batman and superman translationg well to live action. some of my favorites like black adam or martian manhunter i want to see them but i guess im a biased marvel fan. i see the manjority of their characters as vorny and 1 dimensional.
