This concept has been explored before, especially in Grant Morrison's JLA run. Which Olympians and Leaguers' are counterparts?

Superman = Zeus (Leader, most powerful)

Aquaman = Poseidon (Fish people)

Batman = Hades (fear mongers)

Wonder Woman = Athena (warrior women)

Flash = Hermes (fast)

Green Arrow = Apollo

You got most of them right. But Green Lantern is Apollo and Womder Woman was Hera. Oracle was Athena, Plastic Man was Dionysius, Steel was Hephaestus,Huntress was Artemis, Orion was Ares, Big Barda was Demeter, and Zauriel was Eros. But i suppose it would depend on which incarnation of the league you're thinking of

Aphrodite=Black Canary

Cyborg=Hephaestus. Both are broken and damaged after a horrific event ravaged their bodies. Both are useful for building and access to tech.

@Jodez: the Pantheon thing was only explicitly used during Grant Morrisons Justice League of which Firestorm was not a member but Kyle Rayner was.

gl isnt an archer. apollo is,

GL shoots powerful beams of energy from his ring close enough to me. Also Light based Powers, Since Apollo is the Sun God.

Apollo is the god of light, Green Lantern wields the Emerald light of will. He doesn't have to be an archer. His personality is also closer to Apollos tha GA's ever was and was a more important part of the league than GA ever was just like Apollo was one of the core Olympians.

I did it for the DCU. Both are heroines right now. And can you think of a better representative for love than a Star Sapphire? Can you think of a better representative for the harvest than Poison Ivy?

Also, I think firestorm is a better apollo than green lantern for a few reasons. Firestorm has more fiery imagery to represent the sun. Apollo is the god of the Sun, not just light. Apollo is a healer, and Jason Rusch can heal by manipulating organic matter.

@Superdork: oh I gotcha, I was just curious. I knew the sun was one of Apollos symbols but I personally find that all light>the sun. But that's just my opinion. Anyway kudos on the creativity.

@Superdork: i think Firestorm is more similar to Helios than Apollo given that Apollo was rarely depicted as a fiery sun god.. in fact he was never a sun god until sometime around 3rd century bc when he became identified with Helios... he is much more prominent as the god of medicine, oracles and music...and archery as well... but i cannot see green arrow as apollo

@cloudzackvincent: my thoughts exactly, I had forgotten about Helios and Ollies personality doesn't match Apollo's.

@Avenging-X-Bolt: Apollo is hard one... maybe becoz the archers in comics( GA, hawkeye, Roy etc) are.... well lets say they have colourful personalities..lol.... besides its easy to find someone to fit the role of lets say poseidon or hermes or even zeus... but apollo's dominions are so diverse and unrelated its diffcult to find a superhero analogous to him...

The medicine part fit with the biological manipulation.He's also the god of Knowledge which fits with Professor Stein. No one will be a perfect fit for any of these. I mean Superman doesn't have lightning powers nor is he a womanizer

@Superdork: Lol ya... this is really difficult to get right except for the flash and maybe aquaman, i was tempted to go with kyle fr apollo but then i remembered apollo and artemis killing the children of niobe...man those gods were real douches...
