I highly doubt it.

Someone told me they heard GL will be gay in the JLA movie. Love rumors amongst non comic book reading public. I first noted that DC would first have to seriously start the production of a JLA movie before really good speculation could have merit, and then I explained that New 52 GL is gay.

If they use Alan Scott then maybe, but that seems kind of unlikely.

As if Geoff Johns would let his pet character be gay (assuming the lantern used in the film is Hal Jordan).

@black_claw: I don't think Johns has the power to stop it if WB wants him to be gay. Not that they would.

You know when DC made the "bold" move to make Alan Scott gay that some of the public would mistake the main GL for gay. They get the buzz and interest while keeping the main GL straight. What marketing!

Isn't Johns chief creative officer at DC though?

@matchesmalone21: you missed a key point of my post. The person who mentioned this to me is NOT a reader of comics and possible heard a combination of possible movie and there is a gay GL.

People who don't read or follow comics hear things like everyone else and repeat what they hear.

I was sharing what I heard, and I also noted that I am amused with half truths and rumors from NON comic book readers.

My source was not silly, just misinformed. Nor was my post intended to fool anyone.

There is an audience outside of this site and comic book stores, and that audience only has basic knowledge from cartoons, movies and news bits to draw conclusions. Not their fault they have no idea what New 52 is.

If Hal Jordan was gay I think that would be a good fit quite honestly. Get away from the cliche Maverick from Top Gun characterization.

Also it might give Ryan Reynolds a reason to actual act, but I'd hope they'd go with another actor.
