Dream JLA lineup

Posted by wordchallenge (151 posts) - - Show Bio

1.) The Ultimate Team

  • Batman (Bruce): master tactician, amazing hand-to-hand combatant, tenacious, team leader
  • Superman: THE powerhouse
  • Wonder Woman: gritty powerhouse, tactician
  • The Flash (Barry): Speedster powers are so ridiculously amazing and versatile
  • Martian Manhunter: Crucial telepath, powerhouse, tactician
  • Zatanna: necessary magic user and a very good one
  • Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner): follows orders better than Hal and ringslings just as well
This team would be so hard to beat and keep down. I can't see anyone with the ability to due that (excluding ridiculous god-level entities). The great thing about this team power-level-wise is that one could argue for several different members being the most powerful of the group. Superman, Flash, and MM are all beastly and could eliminate most threats alone. In cases where strategy beyond a blitz is necessary there's Batman to strategize the team out of any corner with WW and MM serving advisory roles, and everyone but WW and Bats being able to provide in depth analysis of any barrier or problem in front of them. This team can sense pretty much any danger. They have magical and scientific means to combat any threat. Even if their powers were neutralized there's no weak link among them. Kyle has been trained without his ring. Zatanna is an underrated hand-to-hand combatant, admittedly not anywhere near the best, but definitely proficient. WW is a world class grappler.
The best part about this team is that Batman is in command of such resources. The possibilities open to this lineup are staggering.

That's my dream. If Batman could form his own league, then I think it would look something like this. Except he might also add a couple of his won people like Oracle as a logistics person, but if he needed a 7 person task force for all purposes this would be it. It's my dream JLA.

I would say basically the same as you, but take Kyle out for Hal, and take Zatanna out for Green Arrow [maybe].

I am going to be an odd ball and go with the following:

Batman: Richard Grayson
Supergirl: Kara Zor-El
Troia: Donna Troy

Jesse Quick
Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner
Captain Marvel: Freddy Freeman

Firestorm
Dr Light
Zatanna

Martian Manhunter
Red Tornado
Green Arrow: Connor Hawke (restored to normal)

Just a note, I actually like what Robinson has done to the trinity.  Mon-El was a good fit for Superman but of course, Kara fills Clark's shoes just as well.

Even though there's a stigma against reviving old threads, I'll do it anyway.

3. Wonder Woman (Diana Prince)
4. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
5. Flash (Barry Allen)
6. Cyborg (Victor Stone)
7. Starfire (Koriand'r aka Kory Anders)

I know this thread is getting pretty old, but I just couldn't resist contributing.

-Green Arrow (Field Leader)

-Mister Terrific (General, scientist. His T-Spheres patrol Earth for crime, and he deploys the League where needed).

-Flash (Wally West)

-Zatanna

-Black Canary

-Plastic Man

-Black Lighting

-Supergirl

-Miss Martian

-Animal Man

-Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

In my opinion, these characters would make for the single most Justice League book ever written, plus they'd be pretty tough to beat. I know it seems strange having Green Arrow in the leadership role, but I really think he'd do a good job at it. He's smart, versatile, good with people, quick to react, etc. Plus, having the only member of the team without powers (barring Mister Terrific, who doesn't usually accompany them on missions) be the leader certainly appeals to me.

Here's my contribution

  • Batman( team leader)
  • Black Canary
  • Zatanna
  • Plastic Man
  • Martian Manhunter
  • Aquaman
  • Green Arrow

Appearances: Batman, Green Lantern(Hal), Aquaman, Hawkman, Zatanna

Main team ... Supes, Bats, Wondy and Flash .....

#18 Posted by 202122 (1145 posts) - - Show Bio
  1. Dick Grayson (leader)
  2. Billy Batson (Powerhouse)
  3. Wonder Woman (Powerhouse)
  4. John Stewart (Tactician)
  5. Beast Boy
  6. Cyborg
  7. Red Tornado
  8. Firestorm
  9. Hawkgirl
  10. Raven
  11. Huntress

This is my unorthodox JLA but i think it works. I find Superman a bit annoying sometimes and i think this line-up would do well.

The Justice League of America - Full Roster

Superman (Leader)

Wonder Woman

Batman (Strategist)

Green Lantern (Kyle)

Flash (Wally)

Martian Manhunter

Aquaman

Captain Marvel

Zatanna

Green Arrow

Black Canary

Captain Atom

Firestorm

Red Tornado

But typically I'd just have an amalgamation of the team members that are most suited to each individual mission and whole league call outs would only happen to deal with the largest threats.

  • Superman
  • Wonder Woman
  • Batman
  • Flash (Wally)
  • Green Lantern (Hal, but maybe even Alan. That would be cool)
  • Captain Marvel (Billy, then Freddy will replace him)
  • Martian Manhunter
  • Hawkman
  • Atom Smasher (because I like him)
  • Zatanna (adds another chick, and with Captain Marvel, covers the magic part).

I know Hawkman is usually just in the JSA, but he's awesome, so yeah.

#26 Posted by BigBDawg (263 posts) - - Show Bio

I like the idea of diversifying myself and your roster is good, Backflip. But let's try this one from me. :)

Superman (team leader, given he is an inspiration)

Batman (natural choice for second-in-command)

Wonder Woman (diplomat)

Flash (Barry, good for recon and to be a part of the heart and soul)

Green Lantern (Anyone would be good. My top picks being Hal and John, Hal to serve as an irritant for Bruce and a pal to Barry, and John with his military skills from his days in the USMC)

Aquaman (Another diplomat)

Martian Manhunter (J'onn's telepathic link would help keep the team in contact without comlinks, plus he adds muscle and intelligence and stealth)

Cyborg (Vic is hardware, but I want him to not just feel like he can port the JLA in with Boom Tubes and stuff. I want him to also use his brains to help the team)

Green Arrow (another irritant, as well as one of the best archers in the DCU)

Dr. Light (Kimi, long range attacks as well as speed and intelligence)

The Atom (Ryan or Ray, both add stealth and brains naturally)

Power Girl (Another powerhouse on par with Clark, J'onn, and Diana)

Zatanna (Zee is a master magician and a link to the occult)

Element Woman (Emily works just like Rex, as well as adding another female presence to the JLA)

Vixen (Many diverse abilities with Mari's link to the morphogenic field of Earth and all the animals available)

Plastic Man (he can stretch, but Eel's know-how on the criminal element in addition to his shapeshifting can help)

Vibe (Paco is an untapped source of potential and his sonics would help a lot for long distance as well as his being a representative of the little guy like Ollie)

Black Canary (Another leader, plus Dinah has her Canary Cry to aid the League)

Hawkman (Carter's a tank. And he also takes no BS from anyone!)

Hawkgirl (Shiera also is a skilled weapons expert and tank, but she also has more to add to the League along with Carter)

Nice, Superdork. Short and simple. I've been thinking about the roster for a Justice League live action movie;

Superman

Batman

Wonder Woman

The Flash

Green Lantern (John)

Martian Manhunter

Zatanna

Basically the Justice League Heroes roster which worked so far.

As a fan of alternate realities, I would like to see a JLAlternate tackle various continuity issues with DC's various reboots, retcons, and revamps:

Superman Blue: The electrical powered Superman adds firepower, while eliminating the Kryptonite/invulnerable angle. This also gives him the opportunity to explore life in a more human way.

Year One Batman: While most expect a capable and confident Dark Knight, this glove-wearing and gun-toting Batman is just learning the ropes. Though he adds youth, the team must contend with a more inexperienced Bruce Wayne.

Wonder Woman Odyssey: Stripped of the excess continuity, we are left with a capable fighter and Amazon Warrior coming into her own. This Diana is the team powerhouse, stepping into the role often held by Superman.

Green Lantern Abin Sur: Still wielding the ring, Abin is the very alien presence on the team. However, his confidence, experience, and power might be just what this crew needs.

Dark Flash: The more violent Walter West takes over as speedster and resident hothead, willing to fight dirty in order to secure victory. Having lost the joking persona for a more deadly serious attitude, he can make the other uncomfortable.

Waterbearer Aquaman: Though most see Aquaman as solely a water-based hero, his possession of the mystical wand hand gave him excess abilities that were never truly explored. As the mystical teammate, Arthur is reconciling his new powers with a possible leadership position.

Hourman 1,000,000: The android Hourman provides the travel expertise as well as the robotic separation needed to help complete the mission. His insights into DC history provide the compass for the group.

Thanks to the timestream machinations of DC editorial, the JLAlternate are sent to help put things back on course. They find themselves at odds with the mysterious Black Beetle, the Crime Syndicate, and various incarnations of DC heroes, villains, and cast members.

While it may never happen, my Heroclix can help me write plotlines...

Almost to me sounds like your idea would be something similar to whjat Marvel's done in the pages of Exiles, man. XD I like the concept of it and the fact you also could go round robin on the roster to diversify it beyond your current team and such. =)

Yeah, I'd do Barry too. I'd like Wally to have his own persona, but I guess they're fine with him never existing. Same with Tempest. And Donna Troy.

Me either. I don't get why they couldn't have done a book with the older Titans and let the Red Robin Titans be in another when they had books they knew were going to fail. All the Titans-related books suck now anyway.

Enough B listers so Superman and Batman don't have to dominate the book and enough powerhouses that you could still have the big baddies like Darkseid and Starro.

This is actually a much fresher team and one that I'd light to see the dynamics of, though having Nightwing instead of Batman may just been out of spite. lolol Also, if they hadn't changed Dick's age by such a significant amount, I would say he would have the skills to run this team.

Anywho, my team, keeping it small and core and before DCnU

  • Superman
  • Wonder Woman
  • Batman (Dick)
  • Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner or John Stewart)
  • Roy Harper
  • Flash (Barry Allen)
  • Zatanna

My idea is to have a very strong team, not so all-encompassing, but with seasoned vets and younger individuals who make up for lack of experience with pure ability.

I like wordchallenge's roster. I'd probably swap either Guy or Hal for Kyle, not that I have anything against Kyle. Hal has the most experience, and I think you need some conflict and humor, and Guy supplies both of those. I'd also swap Wally for Barry. I find Wally more interesting than Barry. I might also want to add Green Arrow, but I don't think I'd add him at the expense of removing one of wordchallenge's current members. Ollie's powers aren't really needed, but he does supply a social conscience and a different perspective to the team. That almost makes me want to add Black Canary...nah.
