The Justice League is said to be comprised of "The Worlds Greatest Superheroes". The current incarnation of the League bares resemblance to the original pre-Crisis Justice League of America but features updated versions of its cast of characters for the DC Universe's New 52 continuity.

Many topics here cover who users believe should be on the JLA roster.

However, here's an interesting spin on the whole JLA question:

What would your JLA roster look like if the following were not part of the League:

  • Superman (or Supergirl, Superboy etc.)
  • Batman (or Nightwing, Robin, Batwoman, Batgirl)
  • Wonder Woman
  • The Flash (any)
  • Green Lantern (any)
  • Martian Manhunter
  • Aquaman
  • Green Arrow

...and as a final question, who would the leader be?

@Avenging-X-Bolt: Basically, who would you put in the Justice League other than the ones listed above, and who would be the leader.

  • Black Canary (Second in command, great combatant, great team player)
  • Steel (Extra strength and durability. Good with tech.)

  • Atom (Team brain and scientist. His expertise in nano-technology is a must-have)
  • Plastic Man (Unique powerset, comic relief)

Dinah Lance :Black Canary (Leader and street leveler)

Jaime Reyes : Blue Beetle ( Assuming Ted Kord is Dead)

Booster Gold ( Beetles mentor and helps the Leauge muck around with time)

Jason Rusch : Firestorm( powerhouse, He could have been the single most powerful character in comics (think marvels sentry but stronger and less insane))

Steel (Brains and tech support)

Huntress ( willing to cross lines, gives me an archer)

Billy Batson (strong man , deals with magic, people like him)

Cyborg( Leader , Tech Support)

Booster Gold (Liason between the JLI and JLA)

Captain atom (most powerful character in comics post new 52 and death of sentry)

Huntress (Same reasons as before the new 52)

Static Shock ( Powerful smart and young a great hero for the league to mentor)

Bunker ( someone needs to keep things light and another hero to be mentored)

Constantine (Magic user, line crosser)

Any team that does not include any of these characters is not the Justice League IMO

  • Grifter, perhaps doesn't add much to the team in terms of power - but hey, neither did Green Arrow. Grifter could give the team a link to street-level crime. In his current ongoing, he has a very minor level of telepathy, not sure how that's going to develop.
  • Mera, an alternative tank for the team, water control is a pretty nifty power in it's own right too. Always handy to have some on the JL who's an expert on all things underwater too I suppose.

I think it'd be a decent team.

I forgot about Dr Strange. I just edited my post and added Strange to the roster.

Captain Marvel and Hawkman would be the leaders.

Basically, you could just throw some JSA members in there and it wouldn't be bad. That's coming from a big JSA fan, though. Also, if Magog wasn't such an ass, he would be pretty cool, and it would get another Class 100+ strength dude in there. Just my input.
