Awesome Flashback Issue Reviewed by Ms. Invisible on April 4, 2007. Ms. Invisible has written 18 reviews. His/her last review was for The Circle Part One of Four: What You Do Not Know Yet. 25 out of 27 users recommend his reviews. 2 out of 2 users found this review helpful.

This issue is a flashback issue which sets the stage for the new JLA comics. Most of them are flashbacks, though there are also flashforwards where we see Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman still interacting with each other, keeping JLA alive. New readers to this should take some time to research the history, as the time between the pre and post-Crisis is a bit hazy, but regular readers will understand straight away. The journey of the three-way relationship evolves greatly in this issue, and shows how much it will evolve in future issues. It's relaxing to see them as friends again, rather than bitter enemies. The artwork is sloppy and some of the artists don't seem to be trying at all.

I have said before that I don't read many comics. This storyline is one of the best I have followed so far. With great characters known by most of the universe, the Justice League holds powerhouses like Aquaman, Vixen, Black Canary, Supergirl and of course Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. I love the Justice League inevitably and this comic is no different. It starts the Justice League and makes a decision on its members. I love the starts and finishes of all comics and like I said above, this comic was no exception. I give it a soid, and very high rating of 4.5.

This issue gives us a look at the history of the Justice League through the meetings of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. The art is okay, it is attempted and sometimes succeeds in mimicing art from the different eras. The writing is very simple though, but then again it is a very simple tale to tell. Just show a major event and Have the three heroes say remember this, and then say what happened.
As they are discussing the major events of the past we are watching them select members for the next Justice league. Of course we do not get the big reveal yet. There really is not much to the story, and it isn't integral to issue #1 if you don't already have this, take it or leave it.

Review:

This shows you the history of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman over the years they spend together as members of the Justice League, from the Golden age, Silver, Bronze...and now the Modern age, where they're about to decide who'll be in the League. The time period from each page seems to be mixed around, so I don't actually know which events happened in order, also each page is drawn by a different artist, which I thought was cool. There are some moments that are not recognizible but acts as a filler from the time it happened (like the part where Batman and Dianas' reaction to Superman's death, Batman excited about a new Robin) while there some moments that are. This was great for me because I got the chance to see the times The Big Three went through together, though it would be helpful if they showed a little more to those stories. Grab this if your interested.

The Justice League of America is considered one of the best superhero teams, so the new series had to meet the high standards of comic book fans. Justice League #0 surpassed those standards. Not only did it give a glimpse into what will come, but it also shed some light on the JLa for readers unfamiliar with the team. It gave so much about what happened and what is to come for the league, Booster Gold (or more likely Skeets) might have wrote it. One of the best sues in the series. Purchasing is recommended/
