Writer / artist Alan Davis examined a DC Universe without a Superman in an innovative Elseworlds three issue limited series. Based around the simple premise of a nail puncturing Jonathan and Martha Kent's tyre and therefore preventing their discovery of the baby Kal-El, this series showed how the Justice League's lives would be forever altered without their main source of inspiration. In this brave new world, Green Arrow had been paralyzed in a fight with the villain Amazo, Lex Luthor was the lauded mayor of Metropolis, and Black Canary headed up the Outsiders alongside the so-called "Man-of-Iron," Geo-Force. However, in oerhaps the Earth's greatest crisis, a familiar looking Amish farmer stepped up to join thefight, and Superman finally stood revealed to the world.
