We All Fight For Different Things
Random members of the Legion Of Super-Heroes are appearing in the present. The JLA and JSA race to find out why this is occurring and what purpose is behind these bizarre occurrences.
My Thoughts:This spectacular story arc is written by Brad Meltzer and Geoff Johns. This hardcover begins with an introduction by actor Patton Oswalt. The story itself was unique and well executed. I couldn't figure out the purpose myself and was surprised to find out what the end game was. You're made to believe it concerns Lightning Lad but you know it's not really about him, you just have no idea who it is. I think readers will enjoy the surprise ending to the story as it was pulled off pretty nicely. Along the way there was a lot of great dialogue, action and excitement to please any comic reader. Meltzer and Johns are able to create a story involving so many superheroes that doesn't feel like overkill. Instead they have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens each time you turn a page.
After the main story arc is finished, the book offers a couple of one-shot issues which were actually pretty good. I particularly enjoyed the one with Red Arrow and Vixen. It was a nice way to forge stronger relationships among team members.
There were a lot of different artists who contributed to this comic. Among them were Ed Benes, Dale Eaglesham, Shane Davis and Fernando Passarin. I enjoyed the different styles of art and had no complaints at all. Their collective efforts achieve some beautifully designed artwork. The cover gallery by Michael Turner and Alex Ross was another treat this book has to offer.
A must read for any DC Comics fan out there. It's a comic involving some of the most well-known and respected DC characters as well as a lot of the more underrated characters DC has to offer as well. An overall excellent story with enough depth, emotion and excitement that you won't want to end.
