    Aquaman, and his wife, Mera, return to the Justice League of America's bunker. Aquaman is disturbed by the absence of the Justice League of America. Aquaman determines that the Justice League of America are in Canada. The Justice League of America have been entombed, beneath the Earth, in a deep pit, sealed by a massive boulder. The Vixen uses the power of the Tantu Totem to escape from her bonds. Dale Gunn, and J'onn J'onzz, the Manhunter From Mars, journey to Superman's Fortress of Solitude. The Martian Manhunter gains entry into the Fortress of Solitude.

    Amazo attacks, and destroys, a tractor trailer. Fused with the crooked prospector, Slick Jake MacGregor, Amazo journeys to Vancouver, to dish out payback to MacGregor's enemies. The Vixen escapes, and frees the Justice League of America, with the unwitting aid of the the Elongated Man. Aquaman, and Mera, rendezvous with the Vixen. J'onn J'onzz, the Manhunter From Mars, determines how Amazo escaped from the Fortress of Solitude. The Martian Manhunter theorizes that Amazo is under the influence of a human intelligence.

    The Vixen reveals, to Mera, the horrific surgery done to Steel, by his own grandfather. Aquaman tracks Amazo to Vancouver. Amazo/MacGregor runs riot in Vancouver. Aquaman attacks Amazo/MacGregor. Amazo/MacGregor repels Aquaman, with Superman's heat vision. The Vixen attacks Amazo/MacGregor. In St. Jude, J'onn J'onzz, the Manhunter From Mars, learns that MacGregor is the mind controlling Amazo. Mera, and Steel, confront Amazo/MacGregor. Amazo/MacGregor hurls the unconscious form of the Vixen at Mera. Steel catches the Vixen.

    MacGregor confronts Amazo/ MacGregor. Confused by the appearance of MacGregor, Amazo/MacGregor's android brian freezes in a logic loop. Amazo/MacGregor is subdued by Aquaman. "MacGegor" Is revealed to be the Martian Manhunter. Having reconciled with his estranged wife, Mera, Aquaman resigns from the Justice League of America. Steel's grandfather, Hank Heywood, decides that his grandson doesn't belong in the all-new Justice League of America. Heywood decides to resume his World War II costumed persona, Commander Steel, to set things straight.
