The story begins in the Justice League Satellite where the Phantom Stranger warns them that one ancient god is still on earth and the world is in danger. The heroes split up and search for the last god.

Batman, Aquaman, and the Green Arrow go to the Pacific Isles where the other gods were. They are attacked by a group of soldiers who act strangely and claim they are doing it for the Siren.

Meanwhile, the Red Tornado and Green Lanturn go to Gorilla City to inform Grodd of the danger. They intend to take him back when they are attacked by another group of soldiers. After they defeat them Green Lanturn sees a woman who puts him under her control with a kiss. She orders him to knock out Grodd and the Red Tornado sees them flying away. He takes her to the Sattelite where she puts the other male members under her control. Soon after they are attacked by the female members of the JLA and they are able to free the others. Mauri is defeated and sent into the depths of the Pacific.

Battle of the Sexes 0

This issue is a relatively long one by the usual standards of comics at the time, even within the series, but it fills up the extra length well as this is an issue about marriage and love.  With that in mind, there is one of the usual and most common of plot elements here where certain characters under mind control are urged "to fight through it" and regain their control.  This is a cliche which occurs often enough, even into the modern day, but it works better here as the theme of the entire is...
