Justice League of America #1 Review 1

***SPOILER FREE REVIEW***To begin, it's best to read this AFTER both Justice League #17 and Vibe #1 (also debuting this week). It creates a bit of a more cohesive narrative this way.Anyways, here it is. The much talked about debut of Justice League of America. With an interesting lineup of characters, and two very high profile names attached to it, readers can expect to demand alot from this series. Luckily for us, the creative team of Geoff Johns and David Finch delivers! When this comic was fir...

    Nice really nice 4

Hey again it's me your fave reviewer Omega-Man. Ok a #1 issue here of the JLA. Lets get the basics out of the way first before my peeves I know mostly I write these for my peeves and there are a few haha. The art is great I've always like David Finch's art it's always been an eye pleaser. The story of this, ok I can't hate on the story much it's a number one after all, so things are just kicking off. It's basically just a recruitment and not much else is going on in this comic not really much act...

    For America! 1

With Justice League being so hit or miss lately, and the hits rarely being super great, I had forgotten Geoff Johns can be such a great writer outside of Green Lantern. Sure he tends to rely on a lot of the same tropes, especially when it comes to keeping a villain a mystery, but dammit this issue was great. It was pretty much exactly what you'd expect from the first issue here, although with an unexpected subplot. The entire issue was building the team, which made it a bit slow, but that kind o...

Great Start and a Letter from the Continuity Police 0

This was an amazing first issue. It had everything you want from a first issue; mystery, intrigue, secrecy, and origins. We are introduced to the team, shown why each member is chosen, given brief origins of each, meet their enemies, and are left with a HUGE cliffhanger in just under 30 pages. And the art is beautiful. The heavy shading and dark colors fit the secret tone of this issue. Justice League of America is obviously a new flagship title for DC's New 52 that will be around for a while.Wh...

Meet the new Justice League of America 0

After months of waiting, the much anticipated Justice League of America by Geoff Johns and David Finch has finally arrived. Bringing with it a colorful cast of characters, as well as 52 different variant covers, this will technically be the 4th title with the Justice League moniker, after the regular Justice League (also by Johns), Justice League International (now cancelled), and Justice League Dark (ironically the only good Justice League book until now). Now I, personally, was not particularly...

    A New Team 4

This has been a series that I have been looking forward to for a long time now. Ever since it was announced at the end of Justice League #12 that this series would be coming out I was very happy. Although there has been multiple Justice League series out previously at the same time this is the first time I have gotten more than one, and that's mainly due to Geoff Johns writing both series, and the big event that was teased in DC Comics - The New 52 FCBD Special Edition #1 featuring both teams.Pl...

Not My Type of Justice League 0

Let's look past the All-Star line of books inspired title logo for the book and the over saturation of variant covers for the title. Please, let's move past that and onto the main story of the book, because it all can't be for flash and spectacle, can it?Well, maybe. The basic premise for this book is to get an Ultimates team, excuse me, Justice League team that is under America's control and influence.Yea.There is a lot that this intro issue has to handle, and we have several plates spinning abo...

Spoiler Free Review JLA #1 0

The Good: First is first; storyline. The story line is very well written. Geoff Johns did a great job with this. Everything just falls together so perfectly. Sometimes Justice League can be a bit overrated in terms of story. However, I feel like JLA will be different. The team isn't a bunch of all powerful, perfect beings. It's a rag-tag team of misfits and criminal (ish) vigilantes and rebels. This just draws me in more. I feel like I'm reading something a bit less mainstream. It's a darker, mo...

I love this line up and I'm so tempted to get the next. 1

It was my Birthday my dad was feeling nice so he got me this as a present and Uncanny X-men #1 as well. This line up I really like it is so different from other teams it really is a mismatched bunch of characters Catwoman, Martian Manhunter and then Stargirl? Who wouldn’t be interested to see that also I love David Finch and I wanted to see what he would add to this book so yeah I was really excited.PlotAmanda Waller talks to Steve Trevor about the Justice League and the danger they represent and...

    New Justice 0

    A fantastic opener! 0

The review was originally posted to my review blog here.Since I got back into comics last year, Geoff Johns has become one of my best reads. I started reading his current Green Lantern series, then Justice League, followed on with Aquaman, and now I’ve been suckered into Justice League of America. Of all his books I’ve read to date, Aquaman is easily his best in terms of consistently good stories and characterisation, with Green Lantern coming a close second. His Justice League has improved imme...
