One Hell of a Find
Every issue, I'm constantly surprised to realize just how much I love this series. This was supposed to be the 'other' series. That weird series with Brightest Day on top that I didn't know what to make of? I mean, a series about the JLI? Those guys from the 80s who were the 'comedy' league? Really? But I bought the first few issues because Booster Gold was in it, and I'll buy anything with Booster Gold. The rest of the issues? I bought those because this is an absolutely great series. Forget the JLA, give me the International team any day. No action in this issue, but ya know what? This issue doesn't need it. It's 22 pages of characterization, and I loved it. All the characters got nice moments and the pep talks they needed to make it through the home stretch. Captain Atom was reassured that he's a hero and not an inhuman walking disaster, Ice completely shed off her wallflower self-pitying attitude and realized being a hero is important (and threw an ice punch that would make any pokemon jealous), Rocket Red and Fire's relationship heated up (I know it's a stupid pun, couldn't help myself), and Booster was given the vote of confidence as leader by the whole team. Also, Jaime's not dead! Yeah he showed up in Birds of Prey #10 that also came out today, yeah he's been solicited to appear in Supergirl, yeah he's on the cover of Generation Lost #24, but I was still excited when he stood up on the last page. The budding romance between Fire and Rocked Red may fall flat for some, but I'm a sucker for romance and I love these characters, consider me a Fire/RR shipper.
The Bad
Nada
Generation Lost is in the home stretch, and I can't wait to see how it ends. This book has been one of DC's hidden gems since the very beginning. All six team members are back and ready to bring the fight to Max Lord. Should be a good show
