Portrait of a man and a mission.

Issue #20 of Justice League: Generation Lost.

The Story: After Max shot Jaime he decompresses the chamber the JLI is in and send them out of the Checkmate ship. And at the same time we get flashbacks to Max Lord's past and how he became the man he is today.

The Good: My lord the way that Judd Winick delved into Max Lord and give him a very fleshed out backstory that makes him an extremely tragic character was just brilliant. From the point of him being a teenager raised by a good father that found out about his company that gave people cancer and found him dead in the kitchen,to his mother encouraging him to become a powerful person and then to taking down the people that killed his father but the compagnie was bought by Luthor since he doesn't play by the rules. And thats when Max decides to fight against that kind of villains he wanted to control the worlds most powerful men and women by forming the JLI.But the point were he gets the darkest and the best was when it was after Coast City was destroyed since his mom was killed there and he wips Boosters memory of that conversation. So yeah Winick gets Max Lord.ALso the art by Bennet was good. Also Boosters emotions to Max after he shot BB was high and it made total sense and for the last page it was just so sad.

    The Bad: Nothing.

The Verdict: This issue perfectly paints the portrait of Max Lord and his slow descent into becoming one of the best villains ever.GET THIS ISSUE.

The focus finally narrows in on Maxwell Lord in a story that does an excellent job of exploring who he is and why he now does the things he does. It gives the answers to how the man readers knew from JLI could become the man who murdered Ted Kord in the OMAC Project and chillingly does so as he stands over the body of another Blue Beetle in the present.  Judd Winick presents a very understandable portrayal of Max Lord as a man who was driven to be a manipulator of others from a young age to the ...

One of DC's greatest villains, and what he does might be explained within this issue as it takes you into his successful and depressing life. Simply amazing…..   One of the most mysterious characters within the DC universe who’s managed to be placed within a major role after Blackest Night, Maxwell Lord has became one successful highlight within the Brightest Day event. Among other villains who are sharing their spotlight, Justice League: Generation Lost has managed to not only involve Maxwell...
