I am a huge fan of the Geffen JLA. I know it didn't have the big guns, but it had some great characters, and some wonderful humor to it. Thankfully, they were able to keep the humor when it was blended with the story. The art Geffen put into the book, was just spot on perfect for the writing, these have to be some of the best facial expressions laid down in any book in the medium. I was always intrigued by the Fire Oberon relationship, and here it goes to a new level. All in all, this is an annual you can pick up and enjoy without needing the rest of the story.
