Graves Danger Awaits The Justice League
I skipped the "Origins" intro of The New 52 version of Justice League. Not because I wanted to, but because I was a Johnny-come-lately to The New 52. I started out with only Batman but since have added a few other titles including Justice League. I picked up at issue #7 expecting to be blown away but even after issue #8 I was still wanting more.
Here we are at the beginning of the newest arc titled "The Villain's Journey" and it really sinks it's teeth in right from the get-go. I've read about the discrepancies regarding what's going in each of the Justice League's solo books, but I don't care completely about that continuity as long as I'm getting a story worth reading, and Geoff Johns is presenting just that. I enjoyed seeing the League broken into smaller camps and taking care of business. The comical dialogue exchanges provide a light-hearted touch in serious moments and you get the real sense that these people know each other through and through.
Jim Lee returns as well and that's always welcomed.
I like where the next arc could be going and David Graves has already established himself as a serious threat. Let's hope the ball doesn't get dropped.
The backup story of SHAZAM also continues to push Billy's story along nicely. I definitely want to see where this is headed.
