THIS Is the Justice League I've Been Waiting For 7

I've been really hard on Justice League the past few issue, it's been pretty crappy. Justice League should be a keystone title for DC, especially the way DC's been hyping it. But it didn't mesh with the rest of the New 52 very well, and there was some downright terrible writing. This cramped and simple cover doesn't get my hopes up much either. But, this issue reminds me that somewhere within Geoff Johns is a good writer. I mean, his Green Lantern work has been nothing short of outstanding. This ...

    Just Getting Better 2

THE GOOD: Jim Lee is back on the art! I really think that he made the book during the first arch when the story was a little lacking and I think that he is going to do the same here. I really like the character designs he does and the world has never look more full then it does with him on pencils. Geoff Johns is finally getting to something in this issue. We get to see a set up of an arch to come and I think that this new villain will seriously pose a threat to the Justice League. I really like...

Graves Danger Awaits The Justice League 0

I skipped the "Origins" intro of The New 52 version of Justice League. Not because I wanted to, but because I was a Johnny-come-lately to The New 52. I started out with only Batman but since have added a few other titles including Justice League. I picked up at issue #7 expecting to be blown away but even after issue #8 I was still wanting more. Here we are at the beginning of the newest arc titled "The Villain's Journey" and it really sinks it's teeth in right from the get-go. I've read about th...

Better than the last two... 1

Now, I've been advocating for Geoff John's run on JL since all the criticism came out. Even though I did (and do) enjoy Johns STORIES but his dialog and characterizations aren't great a lot of the time. That's what I felt was lacking in the first arc of JL, and even though it was an enjoyable STORY, the way the characters acted in it may have been the cause of a lot of the criticism. In this issue, we see that the League actually working together, morsel than they did in those awful one-offs the...

The journey of a brand new villain, good job geoff johns…good job 0

Many will agree that geoff john’s justice league has received mixed reviews from readers (newer readers tend to enjoy it a lot while a large portion of older ones hate it. But now finally I can assure that this title is ready to move forward as all the things we expect from geoff johns and jim lee in a team book are finally here. The issue starts four years ago, the author of the book about the justice league who was saved once by them is now in a wheel chair, looking very old as his doctor tells...

Capless Crusader Review JUSTICE LEAGUE #9 0

With last month's issue wrapping up the Apokolips storyline, and coming hot on the heels of the Free Comic Book Day New 52 release, this month's Justice League is very much a stage-setting issue. If the glimpses we get at the new villain, "Graves" are any indication, then the play to be performed on that stage is going to be a wild one.Graves' role has been teased throughout the series to this point, having shown him penning a number of books on popular conspiracy theories relating to Atlantis, ...

    Good Cop, Bad Cop 0

Justice League #9 was pretty awesome for a set-up issue; I am so relieved that Jim Lee is back with his awesome pencils, and the book overall was very entertaining. I'm glad of the effort put into the story instead of relying so heavily in the splashy art. I feel so bad for poor Steve Trevor, I always want to root for the underdog. Great issue! Please check my mini-review here:http://bit.ly/KXSmyFComments and feedback are always welcome!...

    Decent JL Fantastic Shazam! 0

There were a lot of big names on this issue. Jim Lee, obviously one of the most notable among them. I happen to love Gary Frank's work as well. In fact for me, Frank is the main reason I picked up the issue even though he only had the 11 page short at the end of the main issue.Let's start with the Justice League portion of the issue. Jim Lee is an amazing artist and anyone that says different is just trying to be a tosser. There is no disputing the fact that he makes the characters look good. I ...

    Grave Consequences 0

SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSThe Story:This issue introduces to a new villain in the Justice League mythos, David Graves. Graves is a writer that has been stricken with a terminal illness and is in his dying days. We see a variety of subjects that he's written about including Stonehenge, Atlantis and even the Justice League. The dialogue seems to imply that Graves was led to believe the JL were gods walking the Earth. After his doctor explains that any further treatment for his condition is futile he...

I often consider it very hard (or a challenge at least) to review a book pencilled by Jim Lee, because I cannot separate the emotional from the rational and be unbiased, since Jim Lee is my Artist Hero, but writting a review must not succumb to such arguments of illogical or "I like/Dislike" conundruns, in order to be objective and deliver an emotional free review, at least that's the goal and from time to time it's not achieved. That being said, Jim Lee was incredible in this issue, there I sai...
