Who the hell is Bruce Wayne?!? 1

What We Can Like About It:First thing that stood out to me was how amazing some of the panels and pages of Jim Lees art was, as well as the people on colors and inks. Many of these could easily be great posters and such and really had me stopping and admiring the neatness of it all while reading this issue. I usually mention artist last but the art really stood out when I read this. The story was short but had some really cool points of interestFirst off we saw or rather read that Darkseid isn't...

    We got this!! 1

Art: This issue shipped a week late and the tardiness shows in the art. The backgrounds are a lot more muddled and look thrown together. The crisp, majorly detailed panels are not on par with the previous issues although I wasn't a huge fan to begin with. Like the ridiculous cover, the art has just been a little over the top for me.Plot: Finally a bit of story progression! Darkseid shows himself to be a formidable enemy for the Justice League. Superman is taken as the damsel in distress to the e...

    Justice League # 5 0

Darkseid being a badass, doing what he does best. Justice League being the DC flagship title, i said it before i will say it again, a all star MVP writer and MVP artist proclaimed to do the best book of the month. Here it is ladies and gentlemen Justice League # 5. In this issue we Superman heavily injured from his first encounter with Darkseid. It’s a mess of things heroes feeling like this is the end prepare for the end. Batman revealing his identity to Green Lantern the first Justice member t...

Batman and Green Lantern #5 0

Geoff Johns and Jim Lee are probably the most wanted comic creative team ever. Now that they are together and working on one of the most well known super-hero teams, is it what everyone though it would be?  THE GOOD: The artist is Jim Lee so you know what to expect. It's brilliant art work and the details are astonishing. This issue was a week late but with all the detail and everything on the pages you don't even care. Jim Lee deserves his respect as one of the best comic artist ever. Geoff Joh...

Never thought you could peel off the batman emblem like that 0

As the origin story of the justice league is reaching it’s finale, Jim Lee and Geoff Johns deliver an awesome issue with action, good character moments and best of all….the most understandable yet out of character moment you will ever see from batman ever (yet I love it for some reason). The issue starts with Flash completely alone as he has no idea what to do in the presence of the evil that is darkseid, while asking if anyone is awake after the god’s attack from last issue. Superman gets up fir...

    The Omega Effect 0

Geoff Johns and Jim Lee have been delivering a new origin story arc for the Justice League set five years in the past. All six heroes have come face to face now and have also witnessed Darkseid arrive and make his presence known. The issue opens up with Flash and Superman trying to outrun Darkseid's Omega beams. Superman is hit by the blast and looks as if he is being taken away to Apokolips. After Superman is taken captive, Green Lantern rages an all out war against Darkseid. His attempts prove...

    All In This Together 0

While the Justice League is known for their heroics and their friendship with one another, Geoff Johns and Jim Lee show us that not all heroes are willing to share the spotlight for the greater good. Even with the great threat of Darkseid going to destroy the Earth, the team hasn't found common ground to begin to fight as a team. The GoodWith the fact that New 52 erased the Justice League that we use to know and love, we have a new team that isn't really bent on being a "team". Even with Darkseid...

    I can't fly 0

There is getting less and less that I can say about this incarnation so far of the Justice League, because it has thus far been quite entertaining, but all part of one episode.  Certainly this is not a series thus far which will make you stop for a moment to ponder the meaning of life or to learn something new, but while your brain might be lacking from the experience, your eyes most certainly will not.  With the news coming out of this series that Darkseid was to be the main antagonist in the f...

Is it 5 or 15 years ago? 1

What its working from:It's five years ago and the term superheroes is a relatively new term and the public is mostly ill at ease with the presence of aliens, superhumans and sword wielding wenches.Justice League has by DC been set up to explain where the present day DCU sprung from and give a peek into some of the characters younger days. So you'd say its a pretty important title and DC has assigned a superstar creative team to make sure it succeeds, in the shape of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee.The r...

Together again for the first time 0

It’s been awhile since I decided to finally do a follow up review to Justice League and plenty has happened since then. The New 52 has been met with mixed responses but sales and awareness of comic books are at an all time high. But this isn’t about that, time to start my first review in who knows how long.SynopsisDarkseid has appeared and our heroes appear to be no match for him. Can anything be done to stop the invasion of Earth?SPOILERS!The Good· Despite my scepticism of Darkseid appearing in...

    Enough is Enough 0

I've been cutting Geoff Johns a lot of slack on this title, and I generally think some of the super negative reviews severely overreact to certain things. But Johns' has tested the strength of the slack too much, and its time for me to lay the hammer unto him.Normally I try to give indications of events while avoiding spoiling anything. But I'm going to tell you what happens in this issue because I just can't explain the crap without a summary.Let's start with the cover. Sure every character ind...

Comic Review -- Justice League #5 / Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, & Scott 0

Originally posted on my blog, The Comics Cove, not too long ago...Decent cover, even if it's missing Batman and Flash from the assembled team pose. Still, it symbolizes the team's coming together in the story, and looks appropriately grand.Darkseid's emergence has temporarily knocked out the heroes. He captures Superman and contemptuously casts a pugnacious Green Lantern aside. Batman reveals his identity to Green Lantern, and tells him to put his issues aside and work with the other heroes, the...

We need to play football, not baseball. 0

Issue #5 of this series is easily one of the best of the first story arc of The New 52 Justice League series, it finally adds some depth to the tale in the form of distress due to the attack of Darkseid and the disastrous consequences its raw power brings to the scenerio, it also remarks the differences between the heros and how none of them is an all powerful being or none of them is the useless one as we all could think. ...
