Trinity War begins and it actually seems good enough for me.The whole story just looks too much like Marvel's Civil War but I don't believe that it will be good as it.I love Civil War and I love Geoff Johns but I hate the fact that some writers just copy stuff and do it because they want to give their point of view which is actually just too unoriginal. The thing I hate the most in Civil War was that it started the trend of hero vs. hero battle which have been one of the most interesting trends in comic books since 2005 for writers.
The best thing about the issue is the whole pace.I really like how we jump from one story to another and in the end we get to the big picture. It can be confusing at times for some little things that matter but Johns did a great job and made an excelently paced issue which delivers good set up for a bigger story and we of course went to the point where we see heroes fighting heroes.
The biggest problem the issue had is that we basically saw everything we were promised for the whole story and there is nothing that I want to see or to expect. The big villain was revealed in the end,the fight begun, the teams had their point of view, the Secret Society has another member which may have ''killed'' Madame Xanadu. And I think that even if Johns wanted to get us excited about this he shouldn't have put all of this in the first issue right away.
The artist did a great job and I am really excited that we are about to see Reis and Mahnke working on a story together.I think that Mahnke has better style but Reis is great also.I love everything he did in this issue and the action scenes were the best things ever.
The worst part of the issue was where everybody says that they should be diplomatic when they face each other and when they are in dangerous situations but in the end everybody acts like a mindless guy and attack each other and everything ends in a mindless brawl.Even diplomatic characters like Martian Manhunter and Batman see the perfect situations to fight other heroes like themselves because that is the trend and Johns just doesn't know how to write the characters he writes. He should stick to writing only the Green Lantern Corps and that's it.The Justice League isn't his thing.
