    little WAVES

I don't know if it's the age or bitterness, but I definitely was looking for a different plot as I purchased this "Throne of Atlantis" saga. The notion of someone pulling the Atlantis' and humanity's strings just to force a showdown between these two races long time "forgotten" by one another is weak, boring, old dated and really not interesting at all. As I open the first page I face myself with a submarine scenario, ok that's the premise, but even Ivan Reis' beautiful art had nothing new to add, because he has done plenty of this stuff in Brightest Day and in Aquaman. I'm looking for new elements, new plots, new designs, I believe it's absurd that a big company like DC just chooses the books creative teams just to play safe and it looks like that exactly: Ivan Reis was a safe bet, because he already was working with Johns in Aquaman and can handle beautifully the aquatic world. Aside of the lack of bright new things, the pages prior of the Atlantis' attacks were real good, especially the ones between Superman and Wonder Woman and Aquaman with Batman, also the Cyborg part in this issue was way better than the previous issues, he's a character that isn't receiving the proper attention from Johns. When the cataclysm hit I totally lost interest in this story, though Aquaman # 15 proved to be a little more interesting than this one, mostly because there's nothing new (at least untill now). Sure, there is still a little mystery, regarding the villain responsible for it all, and there is Ivan Reis with his great style, but I can't let go of the feelling that I wanted something new, extraordinary, instead I'm (we) are stuck with this, so let's enjoy it, shall we!

      Starting a War 0

I have been a fan of this series since the start, and although it's had a couple of rough patches it's still been an excellent series, and one of my favourites in the New 52. Geoff Johns has done an excellent job writing this series, and although I was a little upset when I heard Jim Lee wouldn't be doing the art after issue12, his replacement Ivan Reis is just as good. Reis addition to this series does however mean that he will no longer be doing art on the brilliant Aquaman series, but Aquaman...

      Very promising start. 0

I really am only getting this series and Aquaman for the crossover the premise of it grabbed me from the start and I really couldn’t wait to see what the first part was like. I have got issues 13-14 and the 0 but after this crossover I won’t get the book not because I don’t like it but because I don’t have the money so I hope I enjoy this crossover since this will likely be the last story I buy from this book.PlotAn Aircraft carrier is testing out its missile systems when they fire themselves an...
