Too Short 0

The Justice League: New 52 had a slow beginning. In fact, only the last issue really took off and had me psyched for what was to come.So when I picked up this comic after what felt like an eternity I can honestly say I was a bit disappointed. I was disappointed not because of the art, Jim Lee has continuously proved himself an excellent artist (one of my favourites) and it was not the JL content itself. I enjoyed the story within this issue and I am enjoying this story arc overall.I was just dis...

Short, but sweet 0

This issue was good, but it was much too short. It almost felt like the book was split down the middle with Shazam. I think Johns has at least somewhat found out how to wright the League's team dynamic. Batman acts a little more like Batman and i enjoy that he and Superman have a relationship outside of the League. That and the fight between Graves and the JL made that half for me, especially the splash if the whole League attacking. In the Shazam back-up, I enjoyed the cameo of Tawky Tawny...

Justice League #10 0

THE GOOD: Jim Lee is drawing this issue so everyone should know that there is going to be tons of details. I really like the way he draws the characters on this series. He makes them look so godlike that it's amazing. He also manages to draw the characters like they are in pain and it looks amazing. The story is simple I think. We are getting the origin of the new villain Graves. I like this story because I feel that the origin is interesting. I also think that him knowing a lot about the heroes...

SHAZAM, Lifeboat or Anchor? 0

This cover could've used more thought and concern in the layout, but the concept is undeniably compelling, so much so that it pretty much makes up for the so-so balance. So after a hit-and-miss opening arc, and then two absolutely atrocious issues, #9 gave us a nice look at how this series could actually be GOOD again. A HUGE villain with an interesting backstory, and lots of nice buildup. Unfortunately, Geoff Johns takes this balloon of potential he was halfway through inflating, and blows his l...

Loss and Pain and Sorrow 0

This issue has that feel of the old silver age stories which is pretty cool, but I was thrown off by the fact that five years after first coming together, the leaguers still act like they are strangers to each other. Too many people got their hands in the art and it kind of showed. Please check my mini-review here:http://bit.ly/NbVxQvComments and feedback are always welcome!...

The Newcomer's Perspective 0

I picked up only a handful of first issues when the new 52 started then completely fell away from it for a plethora of reasons. Now, approaching this via an issue purchased impulsively at the supermarket I'm a bit baffled. The main story features a Justice League I don't particularly care for. They're kinda moody and I'm not in love with the casual approach their taking to secrets about one another. Granted, I did pick up this issue mid-arc, and I've no one to blame for being lost but myself. Th...
