A Gathering of Heroes....
The Story:
I've heard great things about this series and wanted to find out for myself if it meets the hype. If you read the new 52 JLI series there are quite a few similar elements. Guy Gardner is a huge jerk, the UN is threatened by terrorists and if you recall the scene where Batman tells Rocket Red to SIT down, its Guy Gardner in Batman's cross hairs this time
This is a typical first issue as we see the team gathered together, the usual in fighting and gradual progression into a cohesive unit. There isn't a great deal of action except for the team taking down the terrorists at the United Nations building.
Thoughts:
This one gets off to a bit of a slow start. I like the team and the fact that Batman is the only A-List character in the group at this point. The rest of the team is made up of a diverse cast and should prove interesting in the issues to come.
