When she was a child, Jun witnessed Kazuya  being thrown off of a cliff by his father, Heihachi.  She climbed down the cliff to try and save Kazuya but was unable to find him. She was haunted by this experience all through her childhood and into her adulthood. In the present day, Jun is an officer of the WWWC, a wildlife protection organization. She is highly psychic and can sense a mysterious power surrounding Kazuya, who survived having been thrown off a cliff.

Teaming up with officer Lei Wulong, they i nvestigate the Mishima Conglomerate's genetic engineering of bio-weapons, but she is constantly drawn to Kazuya and can't let him give in to his hatred and kill his father.  After many confrontations with eachother, Jun discovers that Kazuya is possessed by Devil  but is able to convince Kazuya to spare the life of Heihachi.  At the conclusion of The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2, Devil left  Kazuya and attempted to possess Jun's unborn child. Jun defeated Devil and later gave birth to a son, Jin Kazama.  She raised Jin by herself for 15 years, and taught him her Kazama style traditional martial arts. Sometime after Jin's 15th birthday,  Jun senses the approaching of Ogre and  warns Jin to seek out Heihachi should anything happen to her.

Ogre eventually came and attacked Jun, and Jin fought against him to protect his mother. However Ogre was too strong for him and defeated him easily.  By the time Jin came to, the Kazama house had burned to the ground and Jun was missing. Jin then swore revenge on Ogre.
