Haschwalth first appears in the Thousand-Year Blood War arc in the interim before the Vandenreich's invasion of Soul Society. After Asguiaro Ebern returns from the World of the Living and is killed by Yhwach for his perceived insubordination, Haschwalth picks up Ebern's discarded medallion and notes to Yhwach that Ebern failed to capture Ichigo Kurosaki's Bankai with it.

Haschwalth later appears during the Vandenreich's invasion of Soul Society, announcing to the enemy soldiers that the Vandenreich have arrived to "purge" them. Haschwalth confronts the members of the 13th Division, who are being led by Hidetomo Kajōmaru. Haschwalth calls Kajōmaru out on what he believes to be foolish behavior, prompting Kajōmaru to lunge at Haschwalth only to be immediately sliced in half vertically by a single swing of Haschwalth's blade. As the other members of the 13th Division flee and mourn Kajōmaru's death, Yhwach tells Haschwalth that he can spare the other Division members if he sees fit, and Haschwalth leaves the scene.

Haschwalth is later present during the battle between Yhwach(Loyd) and Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto, though he doesn't intervene in the battle. After Yamamoto's death, Yhwach tells Haschwalth to order the Stern Ritter to raze all of Soul Society, but the command is interrupted by the sudden arrival of Ichigo Kurosaki. Haschwalth approaches Ichigo to "purge" him, but Yhwach orders him back and confronts Ichigo instead. At the height of Ichigo and Yhwach's battle, Yhwach is stopped by a mysterious force, and Haschwalth tells him that their time limit outside of the "Schatten Bereich" is up. The two turn to leave and Ichigo swings at them one last time, but Haschwalth swiftly slices Ichigo's blade apart before he can strike them. The two then depart from Soul Society through a shadowy portal.

Later, Haschwalth is present when Yhwach announces Uryū Ishida as his successor. When Bazz-B goes to confront Yhwach about his decision, Haschwalth stops him. After Bazz-B berates Haschwalth for his apathy in regards to his standings in the Vandenreich and urges Haschwalth to denounce his title, their argument is interrupted by Askin Naak Le Vaar, and Haschwalth departs to his chambers. Once there, he discusses Yhwach's decision with an attendant, revealing that he suspects Yhwach made Ishida his successor in order to restrict Ishida's actions and keep him on a tighter leash.

Soon afterwards, Haschwalth follows his leader and approaches Shunsui and begins to introduce himself to Shunsui and Haschwalth is stopped by a barrier created by Nanao. Haschwalth absorbs the reshi but Nanao creates a new wall. Haschwalth decides to attack but before he could, he abruptly leaves and appears at the Wandenreich HQ to execute Cang Du and BG9. He strikes at Cang but Cang uses "The Iron" to block the attack however Haschwalth uses "The Balance" to cut through Cang.

Afterwards, Haschwalth confronts Uryu and begins having a long conversation with him about Yhwach and the history of the Quincy. Soon Haschwalth is present when Yhwach absorbs the Soul King. Haschwalth sends a messenger to observe Uryu but the messenger is killed by Bazz-B. Bazz-B attacks Haschwalth with Burner Finger but is eventually overwhelmed and later killed by Haschwalth.

Soon afterwards, Haschwalth confronts Uryu and becomes suspicious of him before attacking him and sending him flying a considerable distance. Haschwalth orders Uryu to attack his friends and soon confronts the both of them. Ichigo leaves Uryu to handle Haschwalth. During the battle, Haschwalth dominates Uryu and injures him until he activates "The Antithesis" to switch his damage which Uryu which injures Haschwalth. However, Haschwalth uses "The Balance" to send his injuries back to Uryu and using his shield to absorb the damage before sending it to Uryu, damaging him even further.
