Judge Dredd
Character » Judge Dredd appears in 3991 issues.
In the dystopian post-apocalyptic future of the 22nd century, crime runs rampant in Mega-City One. Here the people are policed by the Judges, elite cops prepared to do whatever it takes to keep the peace, even if it means sentencing criminals to death on the spot. And the most feared of all the Judges is Judge Dredd.
"Judge Dredd" Movie Script Completed!
To be honest, I couldn't give a toss about Judge Dredd. I couldn't give a toss for the 'Sharply Dressed Lady' who has their facts wrong and pretends to be a comic reader based on a claim that they bought an issue of Fantastic Four.
Personally, I would prefer to see a Halo Jones film, or an ABC Warriors movie.
I wont pretend to be a "Tooth" fan. In fact, I care very little for 2000AD, and only know a few of the hundreds (if not 'thousands) of stories it has produced. However, I wouldn't be so ignorant to dismiss a highly reputable, long-running and respected title that has produced decades of gritty & hard-hitting stories. It has also been a primordial breeding ground for many writers and artists. It has been publishing for decades the types of stories that Marvel & DC have only recently started to create.
I also suggest that 'SDL' should get 'her' facts right before making ludicrously sweeping statements. Watchmen remains a relevant story to this day. As a trade paperback it has never been out of print. That's over 2 decades worth of sales. Also, trying to condescend to other members never works well on ComicVine as many people here will actually know more on the subject than 'she' claims. Particularly as it only makes 'her' look more ignorant when 'she' incorrectly assumes someone's nationality.
For the record, Aztek the Lost has a fantastic taste in comic that not many others appreciate. However, his taste in comic books does not reflect his nationality. Anyone who assumes that his taste in comics proves that he's British is a complete fool.
Sylvester Stallone once performed as Judge Dredd many many years ago and it is not one half successful and this new version is another one half a loser that Movie could ever be.
I've been reading some positive news about the new DREDD film. And I'll be really happy if it's get made as it should be done, I.E: police brutality, anti-heroic antics, a bit of fascism and a ultra-cool "R-Rated" tag, count me in. Seriously. DREDD is probably one of the greatest characters in the whole darn comic book universe. I want this movie to be badass, the concept artwork "Mark Simpson" Jock is doing for this project is really mind-blowing, so I'm willing to spend some money on the theater.
"since I presume the "fantastic taste in comics" is a compliment, thank you :D "Well, it was meant more along the lines of 'I know I prefer cheesy Marvel super heroics, but you prefer actual stories'... but yeah, it's kind of a compliment too. A lot of my comic reading friends have endorsed your recommendation to read Fables :)
"The role deserves a quality actor, I think Stallone is cool and I like some of his action movies but he was totally the wrong actor for this role
AH AM DUH LOO-UH!!!! All I can say is that goodness Stallone knows his place. I haven't heard him crying about being Dredd in the new film the way Adam West did when Tim Burton rebooted the Batman franchise. I really hope they do a better job this time. "

Totally agree, all good comic book films have had quality actors, who didn't feel that they were bigger than the role. The first Judge Dredd film was seen more as a Stallone film rather than a Judge Dredd film (if you know what I mean). Spider-man, new Batman and Iron Man films all benefitted from a good leading man.
" @Sun King said:Oh, because he doesn't think that chicks should be on a comic book site? Pretty sure if you approach 1000 random girls in your area and see if they give a lick or shit about comics, you'd get the same answer from every one of them. How you managed to link him stating an opinion about girls and comics to him never getting a girlfriend is beyond me, but clearly not beyond you!" @The Sharp Dressed Lady said:.................... and this is why you will never have a girlfriend. I just hope Judge Death and his Judges are in this one.
