#4 Posted by KRYPTON (1891 posts) - - Show Bio

Thta song is amazing, I think it's Nero who made it.

#6 Posted by The Mighty Monarch (2244 posts) - - Show Bio

This looks sooooooo unbelievably 80's...... but in a good way.

#7 Posted by Bull_iod (46 posts) - - Show Bio

Avengers = Colourful fun

Dark Knight Rises = Gritty realism

Dredd = 80's kick Ass nonsense

This is my trinity for the year. This year we have been spoiled!!

I can't decide if I like this previews or not. While the more 80s grit look is fantastic for me, the rythm of the story seem a little off, especially for Dredd related production.

Not so much excited for this, but to be fair, I'd say the same about the new Batman film.

I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT. WHY I LIKE THIS SONG SO MUCH. ITS LIKE THE ONE IN MASS EFFECT 3, with some lyrics. god this has been nagging the crap out of me.

How so?

Well, looks like they spoiled part of the ending in the trailer.

#14 Posted by Kilgore (6 posts) - - Show Bio

The song is a Skream dubstep remix of La Roux's In For The Kill.

I hope this is the opening credits

Also, I can't help but think of this.

Trailer gets better each time I watch it.

And contrary to what the idiots on YouTube say, the remix of La Roux's In For The Kill is far superior to her regular version. That's why it has more views...

...and this movie will be far superior to Judge Dredd w/ Stallone (although I will always love that movie minus Rob).

#23 Posted by Xenozoic Shaman (410 posts) - - Show Bio

Needs more vocal intensity, while ranting about the law. Other than that, looking forward to it.

#24 Posted by spystreak (2063 posts) - - Show Bio

can't wait ...I AM THE LAW!

#25 Posted by Inverno (13232 posts) - - Show Bio

This looks cool but I am cautiously optimistic toward it. This movie is in serious danger of becoming another Priest.

#26 Posted by Aetheldod (51 posts) - - Show Bio

Ohhh .... I weirdly enjoy the Last Judge Dredd movie , so this cant be worse than that one :D

#27 Posted by cbishop (8260 posts) - - Show Bio

I think people are going to be disappointed about this movie, but I'd be happy to be wrong.

#28 Posted by RedheadedAtrocitus (6885 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm definitely looking forward to this movie. I liked the '96 movie and will be pleasantly surprised to see this go up and beyond what that movie accomplished. Truthfully I won't be disappointed if he takes the helmet off, but I'd MUCH rather it stay on.

I can't really explain. As far as I remember (it has been a few years since I actually read a Dredd comic), the classic Dredd stories packed some kind of detachment effect: no matter how insane and violent was the situation, Dredd never panicked, never screamed, never showed much emotion in general. As a result I felt very detached from the story.

Stallone's version of Dredd packed way too much Rambo in it, the character roared "I'm the law" every two minutes and was way too sarcastic.

This new version seem closer in terms of behaviour, but the environment feel wrong. It lacks the crazy, over-the-top, insanity of the comic, and this threw everything slightly off balance.

Its true that the setting seems to be a more realistic near future but its been confirmed that Andersan will be a psiker and there will be mutants so it still has some of the fantastic, still looks good IMO

Following the trend of comic book movies to rake in more money, and maybe it will be good, maybe not. I'll save my money, wait for DVD rental.

#32 Posted by Kilgore (6 posts) - - Show Bio

Nope. Dubstep, sir. Drum & Bass is quicker. ;)

#33 Posted by PreacherCain (4 posts) - - Show Bio

Looks great!

Pretty sure this film is set in the early days of Mega-City One when the city is still under construction. The rookie Judge he has with him is Anderson, a very popular character in her own right who went on to have her own series and is also heavily linked to the Judge Death character.

For people interested in checking out Dredd in the comics I'd recommend Judge Dredd Case Files 05 for old-skool Dredd (do NOT start at Case Files 01; the first couple of stories were spent still trying to figure out the character and the material is sketchy at best. It's not even proper Dredd till CF 02). More modern Dredd would be Judge Dredd: America (a definitive Mega-City One tale!), The Pit and maybe some of the latest stuff like Origins and Tour of Duty.

Looking forward to this film!

Looks cool. Sounds corny.

#35 Posted by jezuitx (13 posts) - - Show Bio

Looks pretty good, but god that helmet looks cheesy. Anyway you can tell this is going to be pure popcorn flick from the minute they said there's a drug that makes time appear to pass slowly. I really hope this thing has a decent script.

#36 Posted by Spidey_Guy1 (62 posts) - - Show Bio

Niiiiice! Definitely a big improvement from what Sly did years ago.

#37 Posted by laabitres (416 posts) - - Show Bio

looks good n th e queen from game of thrones is in it lol

#38 Posted by MrCranch (1 posts) - - Show Bio

My biggest concern about this trailer is that Dredd is not a badass tough guy but an uncompromising agent of a harsh legal system. I fear they may play on I AM THE LAW as some some sort of vigilantism or mere fascist brutality, and miss the point...

#39 Edited by MagikGimp (13 posts) - - Show Bio

Eh, seems far too serious, like most modern sci-fi is unfortunately (a case of too much geek immersion?) The point about Judge Dredd is that although it's set in a future dystopia the comic is still able to replace tongue back in cheek every now and then.

I also didn't like the costume design right from the start. It's supposed to be huge, over the top and shiny all of the time again because it's the future and tongue in cheek. Karl Urban's voice is awful and he looks small even though he's a fairly burly guy.

The first film wasn't received all that well but I quite enjoyed it myself. I think this approach is wrong and I would have gone more with improving on what the original did well with the larger budget and greater possibilities with effects these days. You're not going to see the fatties, they're not going to say "Grud" and such and they don't even acknowledge 2000AD in the trailer so I'd say the British essence is all but gone in this. I'll see what the reviews say.

#40 Posted by Dangerloves (6 posts) - - Show Bio

"Oh my Grud!"

Lena Headey calling the shots in a Block War! Yeah I'm in.

Just hoping they keep the Englishness of 2000 AD.

I'm praying this isn't a let down.
