Deacon Joseph blackfire is a religious leader who is believe to have lived over a century a native American shaman who was entombed alive for killing a tribal chief and heresy, after that he was found by a Dutchman some days later after he was entombed alive, the people who found him where been slowly disappearing only a few where left the only witness said he saw a naked man walking away from the area.

Now he have formed a group of followers he’s army not only the homeless of Gotham but also some missing people according to the report more than 500 people where missing, using the city sewers as their home Joseph Blackfire lead the army to a rebellion against crime that would conclude on taking over Gotham city, Blackfire capture batman, batman was brainwashed by a drug making him one of their own even if batman snaps out of the brainwash condition and been updated by robin (Jason Todd) he goes on the hunt but the drug he was brainwashed was tricky it had severe aftereffects that makes Joseph blackfire hard to catch, the people of Gotham where in total panic the ones who refused to join where gunned down by the homeless troops the national guard went down to the sewers and where slaughtered the governor ask for federal aid and declared Gotham city a disaster area asking the people to evacuated the city they even showed videos of people been killed by executioners like the old ways, after searching the whole sewers and even robin (Jason Todd) been shot batman confronted Joseph Blackfire who was ready to die he even begged batman to kill him to turn himself into a symbol a martyr to the people but batman after giving him the beating of he’s life the homeless army turn on blackfire and killed him as batman when out he lit Blackfire’s totem on fire and the entire city began healing putting a end to the nightmare.
