A Must Read Jonah Hex Comic

    The Story:
Jonah Hex was left alone with his drunken father by his mother who left with another man. Jonah Hex hadn't seen her in years until he saw a wanted poster with her on it. After seeing it, he tracks her down to find out why she is wanted. She told him she has another son just before she died. He seeks out his half brother in Heaven's Gate and buries his mother. El Papagayo, wants revenge on the entire Hex family and won't stop until Jonah Hex is dead. He leads the rest of his gang of bandits to Heaven's Gate to find Jonah Hex. Jonah Hex helps protect the people of the city from suffering on his behalf.

    My Thoughts:
This is the first Jonah Hex comic I have ever read and I was completely pleased after finishing this. If you have never read Jonah Hex and watched the DC film Jonah Hex, don't let that film ruin your opinion about this character. Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti write such a compelling story that literally keeps you on the edge of your seat. I couldn't stop flipping the pages and read this all the way through without putting it down.

Jonah Hex is fun character to read who is all about whores and drinking. Yes you read right. And he sure has a mean shot with a pistol. This book had a great balance of dialogue and action and didn't rely on one or the other to make this great. I loved the dialogue. It was so accurate for that time period and so well written.

The only thing I didn't like about this comic was the art which is done by Tony DeZuniga. I didn't let it bother me though because I really did enjoy this comic. But it would have been even more enjoyable with a better art presentation. I do understand why the art was designed this way. It does fit for the old western type of comic book however, I completely enjoyed this comic for the story, not the art. The design of the hardcover was something I liked a lot. I thought that was very original and fitting.

This is something I would recommend for new and old fans of Jonah Hex. You can pick this up and jump right into the story without having to have any previous knowledge of the character. It's a very entertaining story that will keep your interest and leave you completely satisfied after finishing it.

This is the first Original Graphic Novel from the most celebrated writer duo to ever write Jonah Hex.  I don't know who does what and I don't care, they have Jonah down to the core.  When I think Jonah Hex, I think "Western", "Scar", "Whores", "Booze" and J & J (Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti).  I don't know if they just come up with stories or they have them all plotted, all I know is that I never want them to run dry.  "Jonah Hex is the best anti-hero book on the stands bar none" accordin...

Review: Jonah Hex No Way Back 0

In Jonah Hex’s first original graphic novel, Jonah’s old life hits close to home as he deals with old and new family members, from a life once forgotten, and with old enemies that curse his name. This self-contained story is accessible to many, if not all, people who are interested or already know the character of Jonah Hex. It’s only in Hardcover form at this time and costs $19.99 The Good Before I get into the actual story, there’s one thing I want to mention. Everything about this book h...
