Stumbling across the remains of a wagon train massacre, Jonah Hex finds himself at odds with deadly highwaymen and a corrupt sheriff willing to kill to keep a secret. Hex must join forces with the West's only gun-slinging pacifist, the enigmatic and charming Bat Lash!

Jonah Hex happens across a crew that has been robbing wagon trains and blaming it on the red man. Jonah does what Jonah does and takes them down. The town sheriff of Kent has been backing the robberies and murders, which leaves Hex in a bind. A tumble over a waterfall in a coffin leads Hex to meet Bat Lash, a self proclaimed gambler, womanizer and outlaw who was on his way to get justice for a raped and dying young woman from one of the wagon train thefts. Hex and Lash make their way back to Kent and capture the sheriff and his deputies. Hex takes the sheriff to the Apache for retribution, who had paid him from the beginning to get their vengeance.
