If the Joker was to appear in batman 3 or any other batman movies

hell no.

Interesting idea.  Aside from the fact that it is unlikely that the Joker will appear any time soon (out of repsect for Heath Ledger and not to over-use the character), I don't think he'd be able to take over the role.  For a start, he's much older than Heath Ledger, so they would ideally want an actor of the same age.  Also, he rarely does parts these days.  So I doubt he would want to step into a part that someone else started.

I think if he had done that part instead of Ledger he would have nailed it...DDL is one hell of an actor and he sure as hell knows how to become a crazy mo fo. But it is unrealistic to think him taking the part especially after Ledger has done it and nailed it so well...Let's enjoy HL's joker for awhile :)

Why do you think he wouldn't make a good Joker?

Don't think he'd suit the role. I liked Heath Ledger as the Joker too much to see him replaced by someone nearly twice his age. It wouldn't fit with the series to have him age so dramatically and Batman has such a good rogues gallery its unnecessary to bring him back.

Dude. He's THE biggest method actor in Hollywood. For "My Left Foot" he confined himself to a wheelchair for the entire shooting. He stays in character between shoots. Ledger tried to method act that hard, and look what happened to him. I think it would be just a bad idea.

I agree that DDL is brilliant. Scarlet letter, LotM,  two of my wins..
 i just don't know about him doing the Joker.

 He'd make a hell of a crime boss though.  And since the Batman still has some scores to settle with the
 mob maybe they could write in BlackMask. Hell  it would work to bring in Catwoman. But these are just my opinions.

::looks up Daniel Day Lewis:: Those locks don't hide the fact that he looks like he's pushing 50. If you don't look or sound the part, please don't even try to play it. I'm still not exactly sure why Beetlejuice was cast as the main villain in Dark Knight. & I still can't wash the idea of Micheal Keaton as Bruce Wayne from my brain >.<

Daniel Day Lewis might be the greatest actor of all time. I think he could play just about any character he wanted to.

I would love to see Daniel Day Lewis take a stab at it, just for the hell of it. I love everything he's in, he's an incredible actor. It would be interesting because his joker would naturally be completely different from ledgers joker@TaffetaDarling said:

First of all this is a trick question....DDL would make a good anything...a role should feel truly blessed if he even looks at it and takes it into consideration.

No . Hes a decent actor and all, but i think the joker needs a younger actor.

I think Joker should be used in the next movie like Scarecrow was in Dark Knight

DDL could play the tornado in Twister 2

I like DDL but I don't think that he would be the best Joker. He might make a cool Mad Hatter.

Daniel Day-Lewis is pretty much among the best, if not the best, actor in my book. I believe he'd do a wicked Joker, but he couldn't pretend he was 20 years younger.

The only way I'd prefer him do this would be an adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns. Or otherwise script a reason he is older.
