Recent discussions in the forums made me realize something.
For me, it is all about The Joker. The rest of the DC universe only exist to give him a universe to exist in and victims to fight or kill.
I see him as the center of the DCU and he can do no wrong. That's right DC, any attempt you make to get me to turn against him are useless. They want to make him do something more horrible than ever? I still root for him. I see him as the hero and Batman as an abusive, fascist, silver spooned self righteous tyrant who is the peak of psychical fitness who abuses disfigured mental patients.
The people Joker hurts and kills? That's what they are THERE for. The only reason they exist. And that INCLUDES the entire hero community including the worthless self righteous bat. I've been rooting for him against bats since I was 7 years old. And I'm through making excuses and apologizing for it. I always cheer for the bad guys. Dracula over Van Helsing. Red Skull over Cap. Dr Doom over the entire Marvel Hero community. I HATE Batman, Jason Todd, and the rest.
What I love about comic books is the villains never lose forever. They get caught or sometimes temporarily killed but they always come back. And for every defeat they suffer, they have several victories in between. It only look like the hero has the last word because the current plot ends. But with out the illusion of episodic events, the time line has them triumphant with temporary occasional setbacks. For decades I've skipped over the pages with the heroes in it to get to the characters that matter.
And The Joker is the king of this world.
So, I'm curious, does any one else root for the villains?
Joker
Character » Joker appears in 4198 issues.
The Joker, Clown Prince of Crime, is Batman's arch-nemesis. An agent of chaos known for his malicious plots, wacky gadgets and insidious smile, he has caused Batman more suffering than any other villain he has ever faced. His origin, name, and true motivations remain a mystery.
Only the Joker
I think they should give the joker his own run... a comic of him just kicking ass, plotting, driving people crazy and creating complete chaos... I would love to see that and would pick every issue up.... get rid of one of the 20 batman runs and give it to the joker and the joker alone... it would be like evil deadpool but so much darker and awesomer.... just my thoughts

They did for a while. He had his own comic that ran for about 7 or 8 issues. It was mostly him dealing with other villains. Either teaming up or trying to get the better of each other.I think they should give the joker his own run... a comic of him just kicking ass, plotting, driving people crazy and creating complete chaos... I can't remember when it came out, but it was in the silver age. The Joker was not as bad ass and crazy as they make him today. DC just didn't know what to do with the title. He was popular so they did the book but couldn't commit to making him the protagonist. Also, due to the comic book code of the day he had to lose each issue. Or at least "not be shown to profit from his misdeeds." That's when they came up with the idea that he is only in Arkham cause he wants to be and can come and go as he pleases. A few issues had him returning to Arkham just to take it easy. Technically, he was back in custody so the code was obeyed. But since he was just relaxing at his Arkham hideout, he also "won" in a way.
But these days it would be a different story. I think a new Joker comic would be a great idea myself. Especially if the Bat and his zombie followers only showed up occasionally, and were defeated when they did.
Why? Osborn miniseries was great interpretation of the character. Norman was 10 times more threathening than he was in 90% of the entire Dark Reign, and suprisingly fun to watch. And they did not try to humanize him at all. He was murderer and monster. I dont see, why they cant do something like that with the Joker.

So much yes to this post.
@TheJokerha: Makes me wonder why DC didn't put a Joker title instead of Batwing.coz thats not diverse
@spiderbat87: Why not ? It's still a batman title, but albeit with a MUCH more popular character !yea that is white
Also, awesome Grifter avatar, I'm looking forward to his series in September.
@spiderbat87: White X-D ? Also, awesome Grifter avatar, I'm looking forward to his series in September.thanks, I changed it in honer of that
The Joker has outgrown the Batman. He's no longer a supporting character in that mythology. He is the star in his own right
You're right, Joker is at the center of everything - he's forming his own team to take out the Batmen...
JOKER, INC.
I do root for the villains, especially the Joker, but I don't hate Batman or Jason Todd. The only hero I despise is Superman, lol.
