Joker and chemistry

I was wondering, If Joker actually did  fall into a vat of chemicals, what chemicals would have caused him to change his appearance to what he looks like today?

IDK. It was stated that the chemicals were the ink that colors playing cards...

QFT. Though even chemicals that actually exist in the real world defy physics in comics. And radiation is basically an injection of awesome if you are close and get bit/touched/poisoned by something
