That wasn't one of his first meetings with him at all. I'm not sure where you got that from but the events in Batman, Detective Comics, etc are all happening around the same time in current continuity and Batman is an established superhero who has been around for over five years when those books started.

@Suprman: Yep. It's a rare thing when an actor just meshes with a character so well. Chistopher Reeve is Superman, RDJ is Iron Man, Hugh Jackman is Wolverine, and from what I can tell Andrew Garefield IS Spider-Man(A lot more so that Toby ever was). Just need to see the movie tomorrow to find out for sure(I'm to lazy for midnight showings).

the joker is great and all but I'm ready for a new threat for bats. he's supposed to be cleaning up the world but keeps taking out the same old trash just in a different garbage bag. If they have an amazing concept give it to a new villain. Make a villain the opposite of joker like a mime or something lol.

Totally fangasmed all over the place here seeing this. I simply cannot find the words to express how excited I am for this. I just cannot.

A new threat? lol did you not read Night of the Owls? I think most people are tired of that and want to see one of Batman's rogues have a big story.

Good to see Snyder writing this Joker run. I think all the Bat titles offer something varied which is good for different readers. Although I personally dislike Grant Morrison's Batman I know that many people love his stuff. Awesome idea to keep Joker out of the New 52 till a year out, makes business sense.

Seriously Scott, just take all of our money. WB and DC, do NOT let this guy nor Capullo go. They make so much beautiful music together. And WB, pay anything to this guy to script a movie. Young Justice, Suicide Squad, whatever. JUST.DO.IT!

Oh, and if Court of Owls is only the "beginning" (Batman Begins!) as what Scott mentioned, then Death In The Family would be his TDK... And we all know how TDK was..

I'm glad that this will be in the main Batman book and isn't just continuing in Detective Comics.

I'm really looking forward to this, especially the fact that he's been away for a year and Batman hasn't seen him for that long.

I like to thank Greg Capullo for giving me something to make a new wallpaper out of, Scott Snyder for doing a Joker storyline that prompted Capullo to design this teaser, and Tony Daniel for being the one who chopped Joker's face off in the first place.

Alright, each time I look at this picture.. it's still creepy as hell.

Took me a couple seconds to figure out exactly what I was looking at in that teaser image. Why is it different than the one in the article thumbnail? I like that one a bit better than the one used in the article itself.

Couldnt be more excited about this, if anyone else had tried this i would have been worried but with Snyder behind the wheel i can rest assured that it will be cleaver, intelligently done and perhaps a little scary. After the Court of Owls i had no idea how he would follow up and top that arc, now i know ^_^

It's the same picture, but the thumbnail pic is an cropped version of the full teaser image :)

He was talking about choosing the Joker (indirectly) weeks ago, so I don't see the big deal. Looking forward to it, though!

@doordoor123: I did read Night of Owls and I thought it was okay. I meant a new threat as in primary nemesis. You know Lex Luthor/Zodd to Superman, Norman/DoctorOctopus to Spiderman, Leader/Ross to Hulk. They've been fighting the same old villains for decades. You get something different every so often then they reboot/retcon stuff to bring golden oldies back into the light.

I don't think there's a word to describe how excited I am! I love Snyder's writing so I'm interested to see his take on my favorite villain :D

I wouldn't say that; Joker definately deserves a good deal of solo stories being that he is so amazing on his own. Still, I wouldn't go as far as to say that he is only good when he's solo. I think some of his best appearances have been those where Harley has been by his side.

God, I would LOVE, and I mean LOVE, it if this teaser art ended up being the cover art for the starting issue of this arc.
